Freeman: Blazers Unlikely To Use Disabled Player Exception

Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports that Portland Trail Blazers GM Rich Cho doesn't foresee the team using the disabled player exception it received from the NBA for Greg Oden's season-ending microfracture knee surgery... ------------- "We’ve explored a number of opportunities," Cho said. "But at this point it doesn’t seem likely we’ll use the exception before the deadline expires." ------------- This news is not unexpected. When the DPE was awarded on Dec. 10, I noted that "given the short time frame with which the Blazers have to use the DPE, there's a fair shot it goes unused." That Cho would admit this with days to go before the deadline, however, is a bit out of character. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter PS Thanks to NOWINE for getting there first.
