There has been alot of talk about the Nets trying to make a move for Carmelo Anthony, They have said they are willing to part with almost any piece to get Melo. Most of the quotes below are takin from Hoops Hype so take it with a grain of salt. But reading up on these rumoors are what got my wheels turnin in the first place, So heres some Nets/Harris/Melo quotes:
"Trade discussions involving Carmelo Anthony are heating up and something is expected to happen by the month's end or early January. The Nuggets - and Nets - want closure to this long-running "Melo-drama."
"Sources also said the Nets would get a point guard from Denver or another team. They won't trade Harris unless they get a starting-caliber point guard in return. "
"Devin Harris, for instance, would be on the move under that scenario(a 3 team trade) — a necessary sacrifice to bring in additional talent to the Nets — and the Nets would then have to get a point guard from somewhere to replace Harris. (That last line is the bombshell!)
Again, just rumors and mumbo jumbo-but I know alot of folks on here like Devin Harris and think he would compliment Roys knees-cough cough- I mean game.
So here is my trade-
Andre Miller for Devin Harris straight up works on the trade machine. Of course that wont work for New Jersey though.
So Miller + Joel for Harris is more like it.
or Miller + Joel for Harris + Petro? It works.
But after Miller there are a bunch of ways for us to sweeten the pot. If we throw in Joel, NJ gets 2 expiring contracts, Miller who they keep as their starter PG and Joel who they throw in to sweeten the deal for Denver. Really after Miller, there are so many ways to entice NJ.
Yay or Nay? Should we facillitate getting Melo out of the West, nab a radical PG in Harris and please ROy by ditching Miller?
By the way--as with all Blazers--Miller and Joel (Joel especially), are bad ass players and I love them to death. I aint hatin on them, im just chattin about the possibilities, so go easy on me. I usually dont post trades because alot of guys get dissed pretty hard.
Thanks for reading and I cant wait to hear your responses.
