Target Cousins while he's cheap

Sac may want to dump cousins.. Blazers could use the agro muscle... I think Cousins will settle down over time and mature. Who knows, but for Babbitt and Williams.. I'd do it as a portland fan.. Cousins is a dark horse and I think SAC will grow tired of him. I hated the Jail Blazers era as much as anyone but I'd like to have one guy on the roster who can intimidate and Cousins is mean as they get.

Excellent trade!

I’d do it but I don’t think Portland or Sacramento would.

“agro muscle”

Quote of the year!!!

The Faith don't panic, the Faith freaks out, burns out small farms and villages in the name of the Faith.

I wanted to draft him (if we could have moved up)

but I don’t know that you want him for rebuilding. I mean I think we need to be looking for core players first. He is the kind of guy you bring in once a solid clubhouse has been established.

witty statement here

That would be sweet!

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

I think we'd get tired of hime quicker than SAC

Some of us are already tired of Roy and it’s been 28 games of this “new” Brandon. Mm Hmm.

Just waiting for the Ducks to lose.

This really makes absolutely no sense whatsoever for Sacramento

They drafted him less than a year ago, knowing about the potential for some growing pains at #5. They obviously thought highly of him then and I can’t see why, after less than half a season where he’s been bad, but not abjectly terrible, they’d decide to completely give up on him, especially if we offered two guys that have been nothing but unqualified busts so far (emphasis on the “so far”, no offense to Luke and Elliott).

This would basically be like us offering Sergio and an injured Webster for Westbrook midway through 2008.

The Heat did the same thing with Beasley

of course that was a little different circumstance.

Not working out in SAC

In the last 2-3 months Cousins blew up on strength coach and assistant coach (big men coach) both times he was fined. Got kicked out of practice a week or so ago for arguing with coach Paul Westphal. There is tension between Cousins and Evans. How many melt downs does it take before a guy is dealt? Do you fire the entire staff? I think the coaching staff and team would be happy to see him go… theres no way this deal will get done but if you could get Cousins cheap enough… roll the dice I think it would be a worth while gamble on a 20 year old beast.

He's still putting up decent numbers in the games that I've watched.

i doubt SAC is willing to throw in the towel just yet. They’ll probably ride out his Rookie contract and make a decision from there.

Nicolas Batum is the future of the Blazers

It's not just giving up on the guy

This trade is deciding that he’s completely worthless to every team in the league. Even if they were to decide to punt on Cousins 20 games into his career, this is barely above cutting him. If we wanted to acquire him we’d actually have to trade them something at least semi-worthwhile at this point for him.
