The Blazers S.O.S. #2...when it balances out
According to USATODAY/Jeff Sagarin the Blazers have played the second toughest schedule in the NBA thus far. It doesn’t factor in back-to-backs just who they played and where they played the game.
The schedule really starts to balance out Jan. 15th with this sweet stretch: NJ, MIN, @SAC, LAC, IND, SAC, then as Jan. winds down and Feb. begins they have three tougher games with BOS, SAS, @DEN, but then they get @ IND, @CLE, CHI, @TOR, @ DET, @MIN, then they finish with a struggling N.O. team at home before the break.
Jan 15th-Feb 16th is the stretch to watch out for, we could go into the ASB with a hot streak…I think they go 11-5 or 12-4 for that month.

Agreed
This is why u dnt panic quite yet. U make changes to improve not to blow up and rebuild,
I can name 3 teams that are top 8 playoff spots as of today that can easily fall out by then….
Phx is struggling…
Denver may blow it up and rebuild
N.O beginning to struggle and franchise movement distraction.
I still believe!

Go into the ASB with a hot streak? Way to give us a break and cool us off NBA!
Seriously all of these back to backs coupled with being the team that has to travel the farthest to play any away games, some of which are the second nights of the BTB’s, is really taking its toll on the team.
Sure things might not be looking great right now, but look on the bright side. I have liquor.

yep
I have been thinking this has been a big part of our trouble this season. We have been playing constantly with an unusually long gap around thanksgivig, and now 4 days off leading into Christmas. Aside from that have they had many 2 day off stretches?

Enough about the schedule and the other team.
Time to look inward, identify the problems, and fix them.
We’ve been hearing various excuses – some more legitimate than others – for 4 years now.
It will ALWAYS be something.
THIS
It IS time to panic and trade, not necessarily blow up though.
Schedule or not these are our problems
1) Our STAR player is injured and playing no where near the ability he has shown he is capable of
2) Our #1 draft pick and hugely important center is still out with an injury
3) We traded almost all of our proven (more proven then current) depth away
4) 2 of our 3 current most important (and best) players are old players who are not part of our long term play (miller and camby)
The sad thing is that schedule doesn’t look that easy to me! We barely beat the warriors, barely beat the t’wolves, and we lost to the Nets. We have yet to prove that we can easily beat any team. The good news is that we have time to get better and make some trades (does anyone miss bayless and webster yet??) and hopefully we will be ready for games that in the last few years would have been EASY wins.
