Trade drawer: In honor of the Dre trade rumors
I read on the main page about the rumors that the blazers are interested in trading Dre for Marcin Gortat. That would leave us with no legit point guard though and doesn't really make sense. Trading Andre Miller and Joel Pryzbilla for Marcin Gortat and Jameer Nelson works though (http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2c5wt7g). That would give us Gortat who is younger than Pryz and is a talented Center, as well as a 3 point shooting point guard so that Brandon Roy will stop whining. I don't think rewarding his childish pouting is a good idea, but if the team wants to do it then this would work.
I also was thinking of ways to get rid of B Roy and what I could think of was to do B Roy, Dre, and Dante Cunningham for Gilbert Arenas and Andray Blatche. It wouldn't work on the trade machine but it wouldn't let me include the trade exceptions in the trade so I'm not sure if one of those exceptions might make the salaries work.

I just threw up in my mouth a little
I don’t know if I could ever bring myself to root for VC. Maybe he’s not on the level of the more notorious JailBlazers, but it would definitely be an inhibition to my fandom.
Holding out for Hedo
There's no way Orlando does that trade anyway
so I guess I won’t worry too much about it!
Holding out for Hedo
I agree...
They’d never give up Gortat and Nelson for Przybilla and Miller straight up. How about this?
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2cdq2gx
Orlando gives up Gortat and Nelson for Miller, Batum (I hate giving him up but…) and a true backup Center in Mozgov from NY. We get Gortat, Nelson and Chandler from NY.
Forgot to mention that...
Of course Denver would have to probably get our 1st round pick and maybe NY’s 2nd to make it work?
Roy will be extremely difficult to trade
considering the prospects for his future production and the length and size of his contract. The only thing keeping me from saying he is untradeable is the existence of Gilbert Arenas and the utter anchor that is his own contract.
There would definitely be some merits to that swap. Washington gets to move on from a real headcase (Arenas) and there’s probably some merit to the idea that Roy – injured or no – would be a better compliment (and role model) to their star rookie PG.
On Portland’s side, Arenas might be able to co-exist with Andre more effectively and provide a dynamic scoring option which the Blazers are desperately lacking.
Holding out for Hedo
Arenas
is playing even worse than Roy is this season, his best days are way behind him. I would rather have Roy than him just because of Roy’s, normally, good attitude.

Arenas is way more of a team player...
he agreed to less than a max deal for the good of his team and even faked an injury so a young guy could get some burn. I don’t see Roy doing these things… unless his injury is fake so that Batum and Wes can both start.
witty statement here
Arenas is playing worse then Roy?
He’s averaging more points, assists, reboundss, steals, and blocks then Roy. Now he might poop in your shoe or threaten to shoot you in the face so I’m not sure about the team player part
This made me literally laugh out loud...
Arenas is a bit of a quandry, right? Totally seems like a good guy, a team player, etc. until you remember he pulled a gun on one of his teammates.
Kinda like Steve Smith of the Panthers… totally great teammate, except when he punches them out.
Holding out for Hedo
Looking a little deeper into the stats
shows why I would rather have Roy, now granted they are both playing like crap, so the “better” player here is still not good.
player A
34.6mpg
6.2-15.7 39.4%FG
2.2-6.9 32.4%3PT
2.7-3.2 83.6%FT
17.3ppg 5.6ast 3.3reb 3.4TO 1.4stl 14.13PER 50.5TS%
Player B
35.3mpg
5.8-14.6 39.9%FG
1.1-3.1 34.7%3PT
3.9-4.4 87.3%FT
16.6ppg 3.3ast 2.9reb 1.6TO 1.1stl 15.07PER 50.1TS%
Player A shoots more while hitting a lower percentage, especially shooting more 3 point shots, while hitting an NBA D Leaguer percentage. Player A also turns the ball over twice as much as player B while getting 2 more assists per game. Player B gets to the line more, hits slightly better from 3, but takes half as many shots from that distance, and shots less overall per game.
Player A’s stats show him to be a chucker on offense, willing to put up any shot at anytime, regardless of his strengths and weaknesses, while Player B seems to be unable to hit shots just as badly but at least this players shots are not coming from 24 feet away, and he doesn’t rob his team of possessions that someone else could score on.

Also considering he reportedly has a $4 million/15% trade kicker (whichever is less) in addition to his max contract
he could waive it though...
couldn’t he? If the reports of him asking to be traded are true then he might do that.

Re-post
Hey, I posted this trade idea in a comment above, but would love some feedback. We’d obviously have to include our 1st pick to Denver…NY might have to as well but I think NY and Orlando would both be happy.
I don't know...
Galinari and Rudy, a 1st round pick and $11 million off the books? What if NY threw in their 1st pick (assuming they still have one?)

does this look like a good trade, because i think rich cho should try this

What about the point that really brought the magic to the finals
Rafer Alston, were did he go after the nets?
WiKi says Alston is Availiable!!! he would fit with Roy for Sure and maybe cheap.
Call him Cho! atleast he can hit a three, dude was amazing and orlando would of had a title if they didn’t bench him and put Jameer back in in the finals after being hurt and get us Gortat too, then I will be happy. Camby can backup PF some too then.
Amare?
I know it’s a moo point (shout out to Friends) but wasn’t there a deal for Amare where the Blazers gave up L.A?
Why didn’t they do that? Concerns about signing him long term?
Latest trade rumors have the Wizards, Magic and Suns involved in talks sending Lewis or Carter, Hedo, Arenas, Gortat around
The 4-team mega deal that would probably never happen
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=29jv4nf
(Unfortunately a similar deal would work with Duhon if we send Dante out instead)
What about this trade idea
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=22s8zve
Cleveland gets Roy and Pryz
Portland Gets Jamison and Sessions
"Its as natural as a gorilla thumping its chest"
A few.

Knicks get:
Steve Nash
Hakim Warrick
Rudy Fernandez
Suns get:
Raymond Felton
Landry Fields
Wilson Chandler
Anthony Randolph
Luke Babbitt
3.2 mil trade exception
Blazers get:
Grant Hill(Maybe have him give a little talk to Roy about overcoming injuries, maybe some tips to the Blazers trainers?)
Roger Mason
Suns 1st round pick
The future, Conan?
can we change the format?
It gets confusing when there are 2 or 3 trade drawers every week. Can we have 1 per week “stickied” to the top with this site?
