Blazers Offense observations
Hello Blazer Fans,
Just watched the Boston game and I can not stand it anymore.
This is what I have observed
1. The blazers can not pass or do not like to make the risky pass.
2. Our ISO offense is so ISO that a girls high school team could defend
3. Roy has no clue how to drive to the hoop. He makes way to many moves. He needs to look at how Ray Allen plays the game.
4. When the ball is passed to anyone the balls just dies. This lets the defense adjust to our players.
5. When a player drives to the hoop our players dont move. This allows the defense to collaps to the driver and still defend his player.
6. When you cut CUT WITH PURPOSE and be ready for the pass. Make the movments count. Just dont go through motions
7. More options on plays. Not just a post up or a pick and role or a pass and a drive to the hoop.
8. ROY stop playing for the fouls. Drive to make the basket. I am sick of you thinking you should get a foul every time you make a move to the basket.
I could write down more but I need to save some of other post.
Thanks

Marcus Camby has made good and very bad passes into the post same with LMA
I see more badly timed passes that are beind the cutters or at the feet of the players that result in turnovers and Armon makes nothing but risky passes and no one gets the ball to Batum when he cuts to the rim, one of the only ones that does actually cut off our horrible soft picks. How can our wings cut to the hoop when the man setting the pick is alwasy slipping it to get a 18ft jump shots, yes Im talking about our 6’11’’ power forward.
Besides they aren’t winning the title this year anyway so by default they avoid the only other definition of "waste" that matters.

of course cutting with a purpose is good,
I expect it helps if you believe the guy with the ball might actually pass it..
If Oden does not give up on the Blazers, we should not give up on him.
Again, this is a systemic, coaching thing...
I was watching an out-of-bounds play last night… They lined up in a stack right, and Nic curled toward the basket… He had a step on his defender initially, but Nic didn’t really run, and, surprise, whoever was taking the ball out of bounds decided not to risk a slighty risky pass over the top toward the hoop – Nic could have caught and dunked… But looking at the way Nic was running told me he did not expect a pass AT ALL… And, given our history of not making any post entry passes (save Dre), his body language told me he was just running through the motions, and worse, the play was designed for him to be ignored….
Another time, Rudy was running around picks like crazy, and finally got open on the right side by the 3 point line… but then, the ball was off to the left with Roy and LMA playing their 2-man game, and Rudy’s shoulders kind of slumped and I could just hear his body saying… dang.. worked so hard to get open… but the ball’s over the other side of the court in Roy’s hands, play is over for me…
The players are trying to implement Nate’s system… It’s just that every defensive coach in the league knows Nate’s system as well as we do… And this system just does NOT feature anywhere near enough movement of players or the ball…
Result? well, you’re seeing it…

Did anyone also see..
When we were down by 2 with less than a minute, Nate calls a time out when we had numbers on a fast break and Dre slammed the ball in disgust.
I got so mad yelling at the TV. I could not stand it anymore.
I had to change the channel, watch OUR team implode.
