Roy's "killer drive" as compared to Kobe's

To those of us that have watched Brandon Roy since Day 1, it's clear that he has a skill set that is unmatched by most players in the NBA.  He seemingly has the size, strength, athleticism (when not injured), and the basketball smarts to be a future Hall of Famer.  Now, I know that's a long time in the future, and it may never happen.

But, I think we're all asking...so what's the deal?  Will Roy ever be better than a 20 ppg, above average scorer?  Was he ever capable of becoming the next Kobe?

I don't think Roy ever wanted to be the next Kobe, but I want to hear your thoughts.  Could have Roy, under other circumstances, been a Kobe-like player?  Does he (or did he) ever have what it takes?  Does he have the "killer drive" that Kobe clearly has?
