Please Go Away, Isiah Thomas
Just read Ian O'Connor's story for ESPN about Isiah Thomas' desire to go back to the Knicks, bring LeBron James and Dwayne Wade with him in 2014 and parade down Madison Avenue with a World Championship...(shaking head).
Is it an Onion article? Nope. Will it change your opinion about him? If by "change" you come to learn that not only is he a bad coach and manager, but also delusional and a liar, perhaps.
O'Connor's article and the accompanying interview Isiah gives ESPN Radio's "The Michael Kay Show" to try and defend himself is so crazy that radio host actually asks him at the end, "are you an evil person?"
My dislike for Isiah dates to 1990, but what he did to the Knicks as a GM and coach during the exact period, start to finish, of my tenure in NYC, turned dislike into something much stronger.
I want to make the Knicks my second favorite team. I'm mentally prepared to do that some day. Please, Jim Dolan, stop letting this guy be involved in your team. Get him out of the NBA and keep him out forever.
Thanks for listening, fellow Blazer fans. I didn't know who else to turn to.

That was a fine interview. I have a lot more sympathy for Isiah now.
He’s had a life of the highest highs and lowest lows. He comes across as a true believer, not a cynical opportunist. He makes some valid points about his career. I don’t think the Knicks should bring him back as GM or president when Walsh retires, but if they do I hope he does well.
I may come to...
…align with you on that opinion someday, MiledAnimal, but today you are a better person than me. Also, I do acknowledge that my post was edited a lot while you took the time to respond, so you may not even want your comment associated with my rant.
Naw. To each their own.
I liked the interview because it reminded me that Isiah is not a joke or a caricature, he’s a human being. Scott Layden did leave him a mess, and James Dolan apparently refused to suggest fiscal restraint to either of them. We saw with the Jail Blazers how easy it is for a GM to get into trouble that way. When an organization is going the wrong way, the trouble usually starts at the top. If I were a Knicks fan, I’d direct most of my ire at Dolan, not Isiah.
Isaiah was Chris Paul before Chris Paul..... Only with two rings
So he still has a desire to resurface, be successful, win a few championships and retire happy and on top?….. Shame on him!!!
Dont get on the bandwagon when Big Greg Oden DOMINATES!! THIS!! ENTIRE!! LEAGUE!! Not like Dwight Howard.... Like Bill Russell.
