I'm not here to support the play and coaching over the last 4 games, believe me. However I am here to say that it is, as I said, 4 games, not 4 seasons. As a fan of the game and of the Portland Trail Blazers, I think fans tend to think of everything thats gone wrong in a "lets start from scratch" way. Not just Blazers, heck not just the NBA. What we need to see from this team is guts, determination, power, something from someone who will say "No, I'm not afraid".
4th quarters are the last quarter of a game in many sports, in them, teams look to hit the "Off" button on their oppenents switches, if they haven't already. The Blazers are willingly allowing teams to turn that switch "Off" as soon as the 4th quarter starts. This cannot keep happening or we'll see the same ending over and over again like a DVD set on repeat, same result.
There has got to be something that happens within the next couple of days to get this team up and ready for anything. Whether its from Nate or one of the coaches or any of the players, someone has to say "We're better than this, and I can prove it" or things can get even uglyer (see the 2005-2006 season for more details). Playoffs is a word expected to hear around Portland, even this year and if the Blazers don't do something now, we may not be familiar with the word come April.
8-9, not a record I like, but its ours, can we improve this record? Yes. How? Play Basketball in every quarter including the 4th. Blazers had this game, until 76ers flipped that switch "Off", when did this happen? 4th quarter. For how many games? 4 games, not 4 seasons.
