Armon Johnson and Nate = I'M FED UP
I'm ready for Nate to go. The lack of chemistry, the horrendous offense, the endless string of meaningless coaching truisms . . . all these were bad enough. But, to be honest, I would take back Jarrett Jack and/or Jerryd Bayless over Armon Johnson. What is the guy bringing besides silly turnovers and forced looks? I don't see it. Nate leaves him in WAY too long when Andre is the only guy capable of running any semblance of an active, dynamic offense. In fact, from what I've seen, our best performances this year so far have come when Roy has been out with injury and Nate relied on Andre to come up with something. Andre has more on-court coaching smarts than Nate does from the sideline. I'm fed up.
Okay, now that I'm done venting, I'll ask, "What's wrong with Armon?" Was something good happening this summer that isn't happening now? Why did he seem to show so well in summer league and preseason and fall apart now? I distinctly remember reading that he was handling the ball well and minimizing turnovers. Also, I had the impression he was playing confidently on offense. Now, he looks confused and desperate--kind of like the whole team during these fourth quarter breakdowns.
As the immortal Tommy Wiseau says in the cult classic film, The Room, "I'm fed up with this WORLD!!"

Armon is a rookie - at least he has a legitamate excuse....
UnfortuNATEly nobody else does…and I mean NOBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They say the Chinese character for "crisis" is the exact same as that for "opportunity". This means the Doberman of Destiny has just visited the Blazers' house and left a big, fat, stinkin' pile of opportunity on their living room rug. - Dave
Patty Mills has an excuse, it's not his fault that Bayless is gone
Oh, wait…

Armon is fine.
I’ve watched him closer than any other Blazer and the reason he’s forcing #$ is because he’s trying desparately to get his minutes and not get the shepard’s hook.
He’s a rookie making rookie mistakes. That said I think he’ll be a capable PGOTF if Nate listened to Dre more about how to bring him along.
That all said we NEED a veteran point guard to back them up at the moment. Patty Mills is a luxury we can’t afford.

It’s a little late for that now, don’t you think? Unless the PG’s name is Stockton and he wants to be a player’s coach

I want your opinion on my "Roy Poll" thread, please. I have outlined my ideas.
Who could be had for Rudy, you think? BTW I’m still glad we don’t have Rex. No offense intended,
Outside of the X's & O's of the game that I am fed up with,
he has one nongracious interview he does over and over.
Back to the X’s & O’s…I fail to see the genius here. Fine there are injuries, but how do that players on the court look? No one seems to make a whole lot of progress. They all seem to have pretty much one or 2 shots they are allowed to take in the same area of the floor only. Nic in one spot, Rudy in the other and Dante 14-18. He can lose a game with closing strategy over and over, then be the last to decide to not run it— and we expect him to adjust on the fly in the FINALS? Earth to Portland……Nate makes the slowest adjustments in basketball. He doesn’t make adjustments ina qtr, he needs a whole 8 game ticket package. Maybe we can stop switching on every pick the next time we play the Suns in the playoffs by game 4.
When the boss has gone through all the players and they have been the problem, time someone looks at the boss. Then again I have been saying the same thing for years. sigh
Trail Blazers Check List Since 2007:
1. Hire new Training Staff based on restoring symmetry to physical body.
2. Replace Nate MicMillan with coach with proven success at highest level.
3. Develop LMA's handles until he becomes Kevin Durant 0.8
me too
I’ve been saying it for years as well, and it usually ended up with me being discredited because I am not an NBA coach.
But I totally agree.
wait, you're not an NBA coach

I can only think of one reason...
to answer your question:
Why did he (AJ) seem to show so well in summer league and preseason and fall apart now?
Because Nate wasn’t coaching him in the summer league… It’s only after a while that Nate’s unyielding system sucks the life out of you…
nah, he's been scouted
this was not hard to predict. How many PGs come out of the WAC and do well as rookies. There’s a learning curve, and we’re seeing exactly the ups and downs that should be expected from AJ. He wasn’t a lottery choice can’t-miss young PG. There are holes in his game and NBA scouts, coaches and veteran players will exploit them
a better head coach/system couldn’t hurt, but we’re looking at a Robert Pack, not a Rajon Rondo
