Quick Question
I keep seeing references to Roy not speaking to Andre Miller off the court. I must have totally missed this in the press... where did it pop up? Can Someone provide me the source material?

it's an old take
I saw ’Dre and Roy smiling and chatting on the bench a few games ago
Jason Quick started this weak-sauce drama as soon as Miller hit town 12+ months ago. Roy has made some comments about how he didn’t speak up enough in the past and how that needed to change. Otherwise, it’s a side issue. Both players communicate just fine when on the court, and the best plays are made by non-verbal familiarity and eye-contact, anyway
Neither player is going to be the team’s leader through a championship run, regardless. There are only so many guys like Maurice Lucas and this roster is still searching for one

Don't Know if That's Better or Worse
… than an actual confirmed report.
It’s very, very interesting to me that Blogs are now the voice of reason while the mainstream press—headed by Quick &co—are the voice of hysteria peddling garbage like that.
I would like less gossip and more reporting in my news.
If this has indeed been around for 12+ months, then it is a very persistent meme.

Funny how it only seems to be mentioned when the team is struggling
like I told the guy who brought it up in the media row thread…there’s nothing wrong with Portland’s starting backcourt that two healthy knees for Roy wouldn’t fix. The news that Andre and Brandon have had a long heart-to-heart chat isn’t going to accomplish anything except make a few fans feel better, and that warm-and-fuzzy will only last for as long as the next Blazer loss, regardless
Roy and Miller seemed to be on the same page during the first quarter, last night. I guess they went incommunicado during quarters 2-4? You see how silly it is to worry about stuff like this? Give me a roster that talks a lot on defense and goes their own way after the game, anytime.
The Blazer’s problem isn’t lack of communication, if anything they’re too relaxed and they’re not holding each other accountable, enough. I’d rather hear about a fight in practice than a kum-ba-yah session, at this point. (Like when Blake threw the chair a few year’s ago, which just so happened to be right at this same time of the season, BTW)

Yeah, none of this matters now. We are just treading water for 30 days or so until Cho makes The Decision.

I’m tellin’ ya, that’s what this lifeless corpse of a season needs, right now. Even Dr. Jack would agree!

Completely agree.
What would happen if Quick and Canzano were replaced overnight? Seriously, would anyone really miss them?
Double what-if: What if Ben was the new beat writer for the Trail Blazers at the Oregonian and Dave became the columnist?
Triple bonus what-if: What if I also won a huge lottery jackpot?

Double good luck with the lotto thing
If Ben became beat writer for the Oregonian they’d never let him criticize the Blazers management. It’s the old boy network. Thank goodness Dave lets me mouth off on this subject.
They look fine to me...

That's where this story began.
actually an interesting article...
… It reminds me a very great deal of the almost identical situation with LMA in years 1 or 2. Wasn’t it the case that they wouldn’t talk and wouldn’t eat dinner, etc?
The article does give me a new insight into coaching and how hard it is to handle the egos. Ditto the qualities of a leader… which I’m afraid must include reaching out. I recall that in Roy’s first season Randolph when out of his way to reach out to Roy. Poor result, of course, but I imagine people like Barkley, Jordan, Nash, whomever… there has to be an air of welcome and inclusiveness on “their” team.
