I keep hearing and reading the talk about Oden, the posts along the side convey the overall feel it seems. Questions and shock and what might be's. I truthfully thought i had an issue with my Internet when i saw it. "how is this way old headline of Greg on my computer" i said to myself. Then i looked closer, realized it was real and felt like i got kicked in the stomach. Dave's front page post could not have described the situation better.
Then i started reading some things about his upcoming RFA and basically the tone is that he is a Big man so there will be a market for him but he wont be getting the Durant type deal ever. It will break my heart to see the guy who we all had so much belief in to take us to a title in another uniform, like seeing your ex that you still love with her new boyfriend. But also, we know he will NEVER live up to what we expected so its a bit of a double edged sword. To my point, what if Utah decides to get back at us for the Millsap and Mathews perceived slights.
Now i know nothing about Utah's ability to sign players, specifically an offer to Oden during Free Agency of next year. But if they have the ability, i think they would do it just get back at us. Plus if he did sign with them he would be a good piece to there puzzle when healthy. (i just puked a little) Karma can play evil games and i can think of nothing worse than to see Oden go to the Jazz, be healthy, play relatively well, and we are left in the dust holding 82 games in four years in our hands. Please talk me back from the edge, give me some cap issue or reason why this is not possible. I would manage if he went out of the division, it would still suck but i would manage. If he went to Utah or another Division Rival.......yes i am thinking about you OKC.....i would want to curl up in a fetal position and tell myself its all a bad dream.
This whole thing just bites the big one!
