OT: Go Green My Friend
I know I don't have to explain myself when I say it's been a rough month for the Blazer faithful. There will be plenty of posts dissecting all that's gone wrong recently, but this is not one of those threads. The point of this thread is very simple: talk about positive stuff, look on the bright side, and most importantly rec every comment green! This thread, I hope, will be a happy break from what is sure to be a trying time for Blazersedge.
(By the way, we've done this before around here: Go Green)
For those of you who don't know, any comment that gets 5 recommendations gets shaded in a lovely green color. It's similar to the recommended fanpost/fanshot sections. It's a small reward for writing a great comment. It's always nice going green, but not everyone has enjoyed the distinction.
So that's it folks, write positive stuff and make sure every comment gets 5 recs (click actions below the post, then rec should appear) and let's all feel better.

They want to save you from unnecessary expenses if he doesn’t re-sign in Portland ;-)
Go Greg, always having to fight injuries sucks but I hope you can find the motivation to rehab hard once more and get back on the court. And if it doesn’t work out then do what you like.

I love this team, and always will.
Greg gave me what I’ve never had, the dream of an NBA title.
Current events don’t diminish the fun I’ve had, or take away the dream that was born.
Future events are yet to unfold.
I’ll be here tomorrow.
Romance me with that Roy rainbow shot which took flight from way beyond the arc and sailed so high that before it came back down to earth sealing the victory, it kissed the rafters and said "You're mine baby."

Well, I am stoked.
We have some amazing players who are going to be around for quite awhile. Nico, Wes, and Aldridge form a terrific core of young players with tremendous potential and a strong promise of longevity. Looking at things realistically, we have a great core to build around, full of players with great character and a familiarity with adversity.
Even without Oden and Roy, this squad has a lot of potential. Personally I am excited for the rest of this season, and I am especially excited to see what Cho can do to augment this core.
PAMFTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still proud, excited, and happy to be a Blazer! Even if I can only enjoy the team from way across the country in North Carolina!

Greg Oden will be an all-star next year
And he’s a class act. A total class act.
Free markets have long been the basis for a legitimate - though rightly debated - economic policy framework. But they have become little more than a robotically-recited cultural catechism, a mindless mantra mumbled to mask the looting of the nation's resources that is the true purpose of Republican economic policy as demonstrated by the staggering upward transfers of wealth that inevitably occur under Republican regimes. A more complete, conspicuous, catastrophic, and irrefutable repudiation of right wing leaders, right wing policies, and right wing ideology could not possibly be contrived.

Greg...enjoy the next challenge.
Basketball is not the only thing out there. Give your body a break from trying to make it in the big time and continually injuring yourself. Go back to college while you still have some money. Discover a life with perhaps less pressure and expectations. The world is more than just the NBA. Good luck, and thanks for some dreams and memories.

It's OK
Now Batum will be an all-NBA team player, LMA will make his All-Star games, and Rudy will become the international superstar he always wanted to be. Matthews will justify his contract, Camby will happily retire a Blazer, and Andre Miller will channel his inner Steve Nash to play at a high level ‘til he’s almost 40. We will become the scrappy hustle team nobody wants to play in the playoffs.

Aldridge has shifted his shot selection markedly more towards the basket.
More at rim shots and many more <10 ft shots, and quite a bit fewer 16-23 footers. His at rim % is down, but should return to mean – so I expect to see a much more efficient LMA if this keeps up.

Yes, I already commented in this thread
But there’s something I really need to share. Greg Oden is the reason I call myself a fan of the Portland Trailblazers.
I have no real personal connection to the city of Portland. There is a family history there, but the family members that I am close to all moved away some time ago. My roots are elsewhere. That being the case, there was no real connection to the Blazers either. One of my family members has been a fan for some time, however, so I was somewhat aware of what was going on with the team. Through 2008, Roy’s miracle shot against Houston, the 13-game winning streak, I was very much a casual follower of the team. Surely if anything could win me to the team, it would be one of those moments. Right? Well, no. Not even Nicolas Batum could manage it at that time.
But then, in December of 2009, Greg Oden went down with a fractured patella. That was the moment when I began to call myself a Blazer fan. It would have been so easy to give up, to say that “fate is against us”. Instead, the Blazers went out and proved that they could laugh at adversity, and pull through the other side. From now on, I’m going to be there cheering them on. And that is why I will NEVER give up on Greg Oden. If it weren’t for him and his injury, I would probably have continued as a casual follower of the team. So thank you Greg. Good things can come, even out of this.
When the world knows Nico Batum as "The Inevitable", I'll be very happy with where he is as a player.
