I read a fan post earlier today by letusrun about Greg Oden not trying hard enough. I read that on the John Lund show he commented on the issue of Oden not trying hard enough. I listened to it and now I'm really mad! I hear that Oden is nowhere near ready and that he's still limping. Hasn't it been almost a year since he's gotten hurt? Didn't Joel Pryzbilla have a way worse injury a few weeks later in the season and didn't he re injure it a few months later? And he's going to be back before Oden. I don't understand. Don't the people that speak negatively of Oden motivate Oden? Does he not care? Any true Blazer fan has supported Oden and believed that he could come back and be a force. They believed that he could shut the people up that have criticized the Blazers for picking him over Kevin Durant. I may be overreacting to all of this but I believe if he isn't really working hard to recover than he's taking a dump on the entire organization and fans.

Most Blazer fans including myself expected Oden to be back by now. I expected him to be back if not on opening night, a few weeks later. If Oden isn't back by December I'm going to really be mad. People in the Blazer organization are making excuses for Oden saying that some people's body's are slower at recovering than others. While that's true, isn't having micro fracture surgery worse than fracturing your patella? And Oden was back on the court in less than a year after his surgery. He missed his entire rookie season but he wasn't out for a full calendar year. He's pushing that now and from what I hear he's not even close to being back.

If Oden ends up missing the entire year I won't know what to do. From what all of us saw last season we know that if Oden is on the court healthy he could be a top 3 center in the league and if he stays healthy and progresses he just may be the best center in the NBA. I'm starting to doubt Oden. I want to see him succeed and shut people up. I've been arguing in his favor on the Oden vs Durant topic since they drafted him. On draft day I wanted them to take Oden. I was going to be mad if they didn't. But if he keeps being lazy with his rehab than he's truly spitting in the faces of the entire Blazer organization and fans.
