Trail Blazers add inspiration to perspiration in training camp
From the Oregonian: "One week ago today, on the eve of the first day of training camp, the Trail Blazers not only received a vivid and painful reminder of the past but also a peek at the possibility of the future as they watched inspirational videos during a team meeting. The videos, conceptualized by coach Nate McMillan and general manager Rich Cho, helped crystallize several themes that they hope will serve as the backbone of the team's rise from first-round playoff loser into championship contender."

Neat story.
Lets hope they translate that into the season and post-season.
"[S]ince men enjoyed very great leisure, they used it to pursue many kinds of commodities unknown to their fathers, and that was that first yoke they placed upon themselves without thinking about it, and the first source of evils the prepared for their descendants. For, besides continuing thus to soften body and mind, as these commodities had lost almost all their pleasantness through habit, and as they had at the same time degenerated into true needs, being deprived of them became much more cruel than possessing them was sweet; and people were unhappy to lose them without being happy to have them." -Jean-Jacques Rousseau
That was a cool story...
I love reading about things like that. I liked that Oden said he was gonna try harder to stay close to the team even if he’s injured. I wonder what Rudy was daydreaming about as the video was going on. He probably stayed pretty quiet during the discussion after the video.
I'd rather read articles like this than pages of spreadsheets
because during the post season, when the games are on the line, it’s habits that are formed right now that are going to be the difference between advancing and going home
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
I love this
Topping it off with showing the players video of the ’77 Blazers celebrating must have really brought it home. Especially seeing a guy they know well—Maurice Lucas—experiencing that joy must have made it very real to them: this is something we can achieve, something worth sacrificing for.
I was born in '52, and I believe in #52. Hang in there, GO.
You too, Przy: everyone knows you're the heart & soul of the Blazers.
