I know its only one game but HOLY COW I love Mathews and Johnson! I was one of bayless's biggest supporters and was ticked to see him go, but I now see the light. Can we please have Mathews on the floor for 48 min? There isn't a better player in the league to pair with our mellow, even tempered star than Mathews. He will likely never see an all-star game, but dude does everything right and plays with his hair on fire. How many positions did he play last night? Which brings us to Armon Johnson. Thats how you handle the pressure of your first meaningful minutes as a pro? Johnson is what we all wanted Bayless to be in short minutes. A spark plug who comes in and changes the game with energy. The beauty of Johnson though is that he will always deliver what he does best; defense and energy! And will be happy to fill a role rather than trying to become a star. These two players complete this team in a way we had been hoping all of our recent departures would. We no longer have to speculate about potential and ceilings. These guys are going to be as consistent as they come because their best assets are effort and defense and those things don't go away on a bad night. I think these guys are going to change the mentality of this team and really help with our consistency. Can't say enough. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Go Blazers!
