The Weaknesses of Lamarcus Aldridge

I have to say that it is sad to see Lamarcus Aldridge unable to handle a double team. Not only was every decision terrible in the double team situation, he just looked plain confused and unsure of what he was supposed to do. He panicked a few times and tossed out a terrible pass that led to a hard catch or turnover and took difficult shots. Lamarcus Aldridge needs a lesson on reading and feeling out where the defense is and making a move that best fits. Its annoying to see that hes capable and could have spun baseline twice tonight if he could just catch the ball and look over his shoulder for once and read that there is a defender leaning to his left shoulder and another help defender coming to double team on his left side so spinning right for his fadeaway, turning right for an up and under, use a baby hook, or take a contested difficult layup on his right shoulder thats most likely better then his terrible passes or ridiculous fadeaway where the defender expects him to go and is leaning towards. The saddest thing about it all was that sometime in the 3rd quarter, they stopped bothering Lamarcus with doubles and had Hedo guarding him on his own and he still didnt do anything about it. Hedo has terrible defense. Its probably worse then Channing Frye who also has horrific defense but was able to somehow lockdown Lamarcus a few times in last years playoffs.

He has received much criticism for his inability to bang and I even believe it gets to him. I can imagine the expectations creeping on him during the game as hes trying to decide whether he should shoot his fadeaway or try to bang where he doesnt really have any development in yet. Where is his Confidence? Is there any aggressiveness in this man? I felt absolutely none of that in todays game. When you want a rebound, you have to have the mentality that you are going to take that rebound for your own and with force. Batum really showed that today as he used his all fighting for difficult rebounds jumping towards and above the Suns rebounders. Lamarcus got rebounds that fell to him.

There are many plays that Nate runs that are completely focused and meant for Lamarcus to get warmed up at the start of the game and get his touch on. There is an iso play where all the players are spread and lamarcus gets fed in the high post on the left side for him to score. Holy crap did it look stupid when Dre fed him the ball, he got double teamed and passed back, Dre fed him the ball again, LA passed it back, and Dre just shot the ball at the mid range forced to from Lamarcus's lack of balls.

I know Nate has been trying to get Lamarcus to play in the post and score close to the basket like he should with his physique, but it almost seems like he just refuses to do so and plays the same game he has played for most of his life, the game of a sissy. There are only so many shot attempts a team can give a single player and it frustrates me that many of them are given to Lamarcus in an attempt to further develop his potential which seems to never come out. I believe that if more shots were aggressively taken by Roy or Batum away from Lamarcus, the team would be far better off. Lamarcus's overpayed contract with his lack of skills are impossible to ship off and we are stuck trying to just grow his abilities.

It may just be my wrong opinion but Lamarcus doesn't really play his heart out also........

In the NBA after a certain amount of time professional scouting reports, experience, and analysis of every player on each team brings players to have far better defense against specific players. Remember those days of shining potential and killer fadeaways that we saw from Lamarcus? Yeah it starts to get predictable and when you look for that fadeaway you can mentally prepare yourself to lounge your weight forward to make the shot very difficult or block it.

Anyways I am just sick of Lamarcus Aldridges terrible play and is literally the only Blazers I currently dislike on the team. Join the Lamarcus Aldridge sucks! facebook page here if you agree that Lamarcus is Softer then Kleenex. It can be a place to discuss Lamarcus Suckiness or any general Blazer stuff. I will most likely answer any questions you ask and put up my opinion on it. Lamarcus getting owned pictures and videos are welcome.
