I was a KP supporter, not as staunch as some of the fanbase but felt that he played a huge role in turning this franchise around.
After seeing someone else at the helm for a brief period, my KP blinders are starting to come off...
I like Cho for his low-key & what seems to be a non-egoist approach to the team.
I love the Bayless trade, he didn't fit in w/ Nate's "system" & getting a mid? 1st round pick for him was genius! KP never pulls that off due to his ego & not wanting to admit he made a reach in obtaining him in the first place. If KP is still here, Bayless rots on the bench all season in favor of players more friendly to the "system" and his trade value plummets, not to mention being a potential distraction due to his unhappiness. Bayless has the ability to be a solid NBA player, but it wasn't going to happen here. Cho cut bait at the right time & received maximum value, something KP's sentimentality or ego would not allow him to do.
I love the "lowered expectations" for Greg's return, I think making sure he's 100% before stepping back on the court will go a long way towards ensuring his future health. I can't help but think that there was some pressure in the past to get GO on the floor to justify his draft selection vs Durant.
Granted, Cho is not as attached to this personnel as KP was but I'm believing that a change was necessary to get this team to the promised land. A fresh view of things w/o the ego & attachments should go a long way in propelling this team to the next level.
I think Cho has what it takes... low-key, methodical & analytical approach
KP, thanks for everything. You got the ball rolling, Blake & Outlaw for Camby was highway robbery! Hope you learned some things along the way & that you find suitable employment in the NBA once again!
Let the season begin!
