So, this is mostly conjecture as I don't KNOW any of the Blazers personally, but from what I've read, it seems that Rudy and Patty Mills are really good friends.  I realize all the primary benefits for the Bayless deal (minutes squeeze, luxury tax, salary dump etc.) but I can't help but wonder if trading Bayless and keeping Mills was partly done to benefit Rudy?  Yes he'll (Rudy) get more minutes which he'll like, but he also gets to keep one of his best friends around.  I wonder if they're hoping that keeping Rudy more comfortable off the court will help his play on the court?  You'll notice that Rudy never mentioned being homesick when he was playing with Sergio?  Just a theory.
