2nd quarter is up, now
The Blazers don’t look so small when they’re playing each other, but after Camby and LMA (and Hill) the rest of the guys are short, skinny or both. At least for NBA players
Batum looks so smooth, his shot is starting to remind me of vintage Alex English.
Bayless looks more like a PG every time I see him. Drove and looked to pass every time, pretty soon he’ll be dishing the ball to Greg and not through Ray Sykes’ hands
Rudy was en fuego, nice passing for #5 in a free-flowing game
Armon was going wherever he wanted off the dribble against Patty
Nice on-ball defense by Elliott Williams, picking up Bayless beyond halfcourt and moving his feet well

this is a joke right?
i can’t watch pre season, but I can watch the Blazers scrimmage in a high school gym. On their offical nba.com site no less?
grrr……..
props to Casey
he got to the gym early and picked out a classic camera angle to catch all of the action
this just shows how easy it would be to stream all of the preseason games live, without commentary. Charge a couple of dollars per game subscription and hire a college student to hook up the camera and pan it back and forth.

The Blazers don't want to stream home games because it would hurt their preseason ticket sales.
They could stream the road games for a price and restrict the coverage area so it didn’t affect the home team’s ticket sales. But apparently (probably rightly so) they think they would then lose home ticket sales too since fans would get their “fix” of preseason games.

they could recoup the few tickets sales lost with subscription fees
just think of all the Blazer fans around the country and worldwide that would sign up and watch, who would never have the wherewithal to darken the door at the RG
it’s an opportunity missed, as far as I’m concerned

I tend to agree with you. But good luck changing their minds. Remember how Ben got kicked for trying last year?

it's probably a league rule
if Stern can’t control the advertising revenue, then no one sees the product

Tickets sure.
Even subscription for hard core fans would be better. But, over the last two years, we have watched this blog community and the media in general start eating itself in a weird pool of speculation based on nothing but what someone else has said about the Blazers. i.e. Roy says he doesn’t like the offense. Then we debate if his stance is valid. What offense? What have they been doing? Why is he worried? How has he been playing in general? THIS was probably the top Blazers story this week.
Scanning the live box score during the first Utah game (yep, i’m that guy) I had to jump into the live game thread and ask who Sykes was. I literally had no idea. I assure you, I am as dedicated and well read on the Blazers as any hard core Blazers Edger is. That alone can’t be good. For me or them. But I digress.
I genuinely believe it would help the Blazers across the board if they let people watch the preseason. For one thing, a large number of casual fans are totally unaware of how soon the season starts. The previews in the Oregonian two days before the season starts won’t help catch that up.
Dear Season,
Please start already.
Sincerely,
yeh 2nd QTR
