Want to go to a couple of games this season?

Hey there Blazer faithful. I haven't been commenting much around these parts lately, but I still read just about everything Dave posts and try and keep up on the recommended readings and comments. So yes, I am watching you.

But today I am here with my annual problem that I am hoping you can help me out with. You see, I am a season ticket holder and I have been for a while now. However, as I am still not in the Portland region (or the America "region") I am not in a very good position to use them. So, I am offering them up again like I did last year and the year before to the Blazers faithful on this site. This will likely be my last year though as I am aiming to be back in town in either April or definitely by the summer of 2011.

Now, I have had some people who buy tickets in chunks off me every year, and they had first crack at it. Still, being that I have 2 completely different pairs of season tickets, I have far too many tickets. Obviously being out of the country, it's just difficult for everyone involved if I have to pawn these off one at a time through the course of the year. So I put what I have left up here at face value so you can get tickets to the games that you want, and it saves me and my family the stress. Plus you guys get tickets that half-season ticket holders weren't even allowed to touch even when strip clubs and reefer were the only real motivation behind the players being on the floor, not to mention saving services fees for getting not so good seats from the box office. Basically, I have a pair of Upper levels and lower levels. So here's what's left of my 118 row C stash:

A (goes with D tickets)

Denver 11/18, Utah 12/30,  Denver 2/25, Dallas 3/15, Thunder 4/1

B (goes with C tickets)

NO 11/26, NY 1/11, Houston 1/2, Chicago 2/7, Houston 3/1

C (goes with B tickets)

Golden State 12 /18 (sat),  Sac. 1/24, NO 2/16, Atlanta 2/27, Golden State 4/5

(goes with A tickets)

Minnesota 12/17, Minnesota 1/17, Clippers 1/20, Cleveland 3/17, Washington 3/22,

So the price at the gate for these type of tickets, except with that variable pricing scheme they have going, are $75. In case you might have missed my post last year, here's how it works; I have done my best to try and divide the games up into different tiers depending on competition, date and time factors. You have to match one of the upper tier games with the corresponding lower tier and you get both games at face value. Tier A goes with tier D, B goes with C. So, for instance if you want to see the Dallas game you would have to take a Minnesota game as well (or Cleveland or Washington). If you were after say a Denver game, you would have to match that with the Sacramento game or the like.

I've also had upper level season tickets for a while. I have split the season with someone since just about the get-go, know the neighbors and I have more ties to those seats, so they are chewed up pretty good before you get a shot at them. They are section 334 front row aisle, and they are right behind the Blazers bench. They are $55 a ticket and this is what I have left:

A

Orlando 12/9, Utah 12/30, SA 3/25

B

Denver 11/18, Houston 1/2, NO 2/16, Denver 2/25

C

Suns 12/7, Golden State 12/18, Sac. 1/24, Golden State 4/5

D

Toronto 11/6, Minnesota 1/17, Cleveland 3/17

This is the Blazers 3D Seat Viewer if you want to check out the seats.

If you are looking to go to a bunch of games in future seasons, but don't like the options that that are here then let me know and I'll try and put somethign together if there is enough interest. I have pretty good priority, so I can add decent seats farily easily for future years. a few other people would have to be into it too. You could let me know at einman_77@hotmail.com or discuss in the comments seaction. I'll let anyone who emails me know if there's enough interest to move forward with something. We can work out a fair arrangement with playoffs, better choice of tickets (draft style or any other ideas you may have) and price breaks similar to what the Blazers offer if you're interested in a set. Obviously can't give such options to someone just grabbing 2 games off of me. Sorry to those of you just grabbing 2 games off of me. So back to the here and now...

As for how the transaction would take place, basically leave the games you want in the comments section. First come first serve (but you have to match it like I stated or it is an invalid pick). Also leave your email address. I would get your address, send you the tickets and then you pay. Of course I can cancel the ticket if you don't buck up. Then, if you try and use the tickets and someone else does as well, security gets involved, the cops get called and someone has problems. I actually was busy last year during playoff season this past year with moving. I sent playoff tickets last minute to someone I found on this site, on faith and through my own volition, after talking with them for some time about splitting one of my season with me. They never even tried to reimburse me for the playoff game. Obviously I'll be a little more guarded about such a thing this year, but I don't think one bad apple should stop me from offering this since that was the only problem I had in 2 years. I've also run into some really good people who I work with year after year and hopefully will get to share a beer with at some point in the not too distant future as well through this.

Any questions or problems, just let me know. I try and be flexible, but at the same time still reasonable. I'll also do my best to update this somewhat regularly. Other than that, have at it.

Hey there Mr. Einman (77)

I’ve taken a couple pairs of your tickets the last two years if memory serves (and it does so less and less frequently). Being in Eugene and working and what not, I need the weekend games.

Therefore, if I understand your system correctly, and these tickets are available, I will take © Golden State, 12/18 and Houston 1/2.

No idea about the copyright

But $75 for lowers, $55 for uppers. If you’re taking the worse games due to time constraints then I’ll drop the price accordingly.

By the way, I know I said I would talk to people who bought from me in the past, but it was difficult to sort out the people who actually followed through and who didn’t. So I do apologize.

There are a couple of good games in the lower tiers

I kept on having to good games down because people grabbed a few extras from the bottom, which is a good problem for you guys.

Am I allowed to split take one of the tickets?

If so, I’ll take the Thunder (4/1) and the Clips (1/20) from the 300 level. I don’t really have anybody as into the games as me (sad face). I’ve taken a couple friends to games, and I end up getting annoyed ‘cause they wanna’ talk right through the game.
BTW, thanks for doing this. Another reason I love the Bedge

can't do it

It’s tough to get rid of single games, and that would actually create more work, send off individual ticket. Maybe someone needs a game buddy?

I actually emailed someone about this. He is a guy who has been taking like 6 or so a year off of me, comes up from Ashland and has trouble finding people to go to the games with. Don’t know if he’s got all his tickets squared away this year or not, but I told him to check out the thread.

Why don't you send me your email address

If he says he still has some games open then I’ll get him in touch with you. einman_77@hotmail.com

I was wondering if it was OK to post tickets here.

I haven’t seen any posts so I assumed it wasn’t allowed. Sorry to butt in but I don’t really want to start a trend of ticket for sale posts here. Everyone knows this site is for “I hate Rudy/ I love Rudy” posts.

I want to sell a half season for good 300 level seats. Face value. I ideally I’d like a long term partner to re-up every year. Purple seats.

by JeffePortland on Oct 2, 2010 1:10 PM PDT reply actions

I've met a couple people on this site that split tickets with me

Face value is the rule to post, but if you’re doing a half season you should be probably be giving Blazers half season prices and half the playoff games as well too to be fair.

It turns out I overestimated my apathy, but not enough to matter.

by einman77 on Oct 2, 2010 3:41 PM PDT up reply actions

Are half season prices less than what I paid?

What I’m really asking for is half of what I paid. And yes, perfectly willing to share the playoffs.
I’m not trying to make money, just trying to find a ticket partner- sharing the costs and benefits equally.

by JeffePortland on Oct 2, 2010 5:23 PM PDT up reply actions

the Blazers don't offer half seasons anymore, but

Purple full season go for 22 per ticket.
quarter season go for 24 per ticket

so a fair price for half season is somewhere between those two numbers. 22 games x 23 per ticket = 506 per ticket for half season.

As a rule, it's not really encouraged

Partially because it gets out of hand so quickly. But it’s not a completely banned practice to my knowledge. If I’m incorrect here, Dave will probably reply and correct me, since I mailed him to confirm the ticket-selling rules tonight.

I noticed Dave’s link to the ticket selling rules (normally available on the front page, lower right) is doing a 404 right now, but a quick search says it’s probably this post. (Replace the word “diary” with “fanpost” in that article)

Short version: As a general rule, if you’re a regular member, selling your own personal tickets at face value or below (some kind souls have given away free tickets over the years), it’s cool occasionally. If you’re selling tickets for above face value, or are a broker, or are a brand new member of the site, not so cool. Further detail is included at the link.

Related to this, the following comments are not official policy, but are nonetheless a few personal recommendations based on my experiences here:

- If ticket requests/offers are dominating the sidebar, it’s probably a bad time to add another ticket fanpost. Perhaps place the offer in the comments of a recent fanpost, if it’s related to your ticket offer. If you’re giving away tickets for that evening’s game, maybe post a comment in the front page pre-game thread if it’s up.

- If you’re requesting or selling tickets, and you’ve found a buyer or seller, consider deleting that fanpost afterward. It’s not really relevant to anyone else reading the sidebar afterward.

One more thing

I received my season tickets but there isn’t one for the pre-season Utah at Portland game on the 11th. I sen’t an e-mail but was wondering if someone here knows the lowdown. My dad will be in town so I really want to go.

by JeffePortland on Oct 3, 2010 2:55 PM PDT reply actions

You gotta get them seperately

The game is buing played in the collesium, not the garden.

It turns out I overestimated my apathy, but not enough to matter.

by einman77 on Oct 3, 2010 4:39 PM PDT up reply actions

?

So season ticket holders don’t get all the pre-season games. Kind of lame.

by JeffePortland on Oct 3, 2010 8:20 PM PDT up reply actions

Don't go advocating for more preseason games

I don’t maind getting less preseason games. You can get those 2nd hand for about half of what we pay for the preseason games included in our season tickets. Regardless, there are more season ticket holders than there are seats in the collesium, and the seating locations are out of proportion too. If you really want to go to that game, tickets can be found fairly easily and cheaply.

It turns out I overestimated my apathy, but not enough to matter.

season ticket holder are forced to buy all 3 Rose Garden preseason games

they cost the same as the regular season games, and there is no way to “opt out”. Be glad you don’t have to pay for the MC game as well – though you can certainly buy the tickets if you want I suppose.

Ahh

I see your points. This is my first season and I really looked at it as one lump sum, not $ per game. That just happens to be the week my dad will be here and I’m not sure he’s ever seen a pro sports game of any kind. Just wanted to share my Blazer passion.
I did go to a pre-season game last year and it pretty much sucked. Maybe with this years more solid rotation it will be better.
