I was reading hoopsworld and they had an article about Houston's interest in Bosh. It was basically stating that T-mac for Bosh (include fillers where needed) would be houston's ideal scenario but Toronto actually doesnt look at Mcgrady's contract as a posative.....though im not sure why, but thats what it says........so i started thinking.
Would Toronto go for LMA, Blake, and Trout for Bosh? I think Toronto would look at it posatively, they get two expiring contracts that shed roughly 7 million and a good solid replacement for Bosh which at this point they do not have a chance at. They may be offered a trade for some decent talent but Toronto is trading from a very weak position, they need to get the most for him or he walks that means a trade, but every GM knows there plight and will only offer the minimum at least up front. If we waltzed in and offered the above trade i think they would ponder it at least.
Now there are several problems with this as im sure you all are smart enough to see, the first one i noticed when i tryed this in the trade machine was LMA is a ppp, which im sure you all know means poison pill player. I know what it means literally but im a little fuzzy what it means in practice, please anyone who has this knowledge please share it but i do know it means you generally dont wanna touch that player and it also has to due with LMA's long term deal. Again though, they are in a very weak spot and if this objection could be overcome we would be well on our way to a deal.
Second problem is what does toronto ultimately want out of Bosh? Value I.E. best trade they can get, or cap relief which would mean just dumping for a say T-mac contract that expires and that player also walks, but dont they get option two if they simply hang on to Bosh? So i have to say they are looking for Option 1, if so The above deal save for the PPP issue would be the best they would get i think.
The only other remaining problem i would see would depend on wether or not Bosh would be willing to play here long term, if not there is no point in this. Also imagine a front line of LMA, Bargnani, and Turkey. LOL Soft as butter, and i know Toronto would be concerned about this as well. So just like anything there are issues here, but does anyone think it is a possability? Would you guys even want this to happen if it could? And how bad is it to trade a PPP guy? If it is bad enough this whole post would be rendered mute. What do you guys think?
