I think this may have been mentioned earlier, but Tracy McGrady, the current albatross of the Houston Rockets, is second to Kobe Bryant in the Western Conference All-star guard vote tally. If McGrady wins a starting spot on the All-star team having only played a few games this season, it will speak volumes of the problem with the fan ballot.
Here's the current voting for Western Conference guards from NBA.com:
Guards: Kobe Bryant (LAL) 1,793,782; Tracy McGrady (Hou) 746,625; Steve Nash (Pho) 744,250; Chris Paul (NO) 701,417; Aaron Brooks (Hou) 443,369; Jason Kidd (Dal) 429,720; Chauncey Billups (Den) 310,281; Deron Williams (Utah) 285,185; Manu Ginobili (SA) 261,107; Brandon Roy (Por) 257,231; Tony Parker (SA) 248,951.
Now I know we'd love to see Brandon picked as a starter, but there is no way unless we trade for Yao Ming that Brandon will make it. But Nash is closest and clearly deserves the honor over McGrady.
Please vote each day and make sure to pick Nash as a guard for the All-star game! There is only a 2.4K difference in the votes, BE readers can easily makeup that gap alone based on the number of views this website gets a day!
