Congratulations Zach

Whatever my memories are of Zach Randolph, I can't help but feel a little proud of him for making the All Star team.

Before this season started, I kind of enjoyed the thought of Zach going to Memphis.  He would be teamed with Iverson, Mayo and Gay.  They would set a modern-day NBA record for fewest assists in a season.  They would be a textbook example of how not to play team defense.  They would implode right before our eyes and Zach would be the centerpiece.

Then something strange happened.  They gelled.  They bonded.  They passed the ball.  They played defense (sometimes).  They started to win ... and Zach was the centerpiece.  Not only that, but every coach, commentator, player and fan from Memphis raved about the quality of person that Zach had become.

I always thought that Zach could be an All-Star.  Scottie Pippen said that he was the hardest working kid he had ever been around.  He has such amazing instincts for rebounding and such a soft shooting touch.  He just always seemed to make the wrong choices, on everything from defensive positioning to friends to late-night entertainment.  He needed to find the right place to grow up.  He didn't find it in New York or L.A. (shockingly).  Who knew he would find it in Memphis?

So congratulations Zach.  I'm proud of you.

hmmm

now that is an interesting thought!

I am very happy he made the all-star team. He was really starting to shine in Dantoni’s system in NYC, but then got moved. After the move to Memphis he picked up the D, added assists, and started playing team Bball. I’m happy for him.

yes

(our) great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit, our system of of credit is privately concentrated, the growth of our nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men... who necessarily, by very reason of their own limitations, chill and check and destroy genuine economic freedom.

We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world - no government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and the duress of small groups of dominant men.
