Trailblazers.com Podcast Returns
Here is your link to download the latest edition of the Trailblazers.com podcast starring Casey Holdahl of the Center Court Blog, Dave from Blazersedge, and special guest Dwight Jaynes of 95.5 The Game's MSP program, Comcast's Talkin' Ball program, and DwightJaynes.com. We talk about the Blazers' recent performances, their immediate future, LaMarcus, Jerryd, Nic, Rudy, coaching and systems, Brandon Roy's influence, the hole Joel Przybilla leaves, trades, and a ton more. This is an early link. I think Casey will have it available tomorrow for streaming and iTunes. The dynamic in the studio was crazy good for this one. I hope you enjoy it.

I love this site, but my hate for Carlos Boozer is like...
Is like a Rose, that in your mind is poisoned and dying, that somehow comes to blossom in your house for an evening, just when you’ve began to admire Pansies as your favorite flower.
I must admit Cousins’, it is no doubt my fault we got so far behind at the beginning of the game last night, alas I was running a tad late, and I paid dearly for it, be assured it will not happen again.

It's dark days right now, as you point out,
now that teams are going inside and just overpowering the Blazers — and this will continue into the foreseeable future. The team is just too small and weak.
There are still reasons to watch the games, and we can still hope to win as an underdog here and there. I want to see Jerryd Bayless develop. I want to see Nicolas Batum. To a lesser extent I want to see the limits of Dante Cunningham. I want to see Rudy Fernandez.
But the Blazers are overmatched most nights right now, particularly sans Brandon.

If someone can figure out
how to pay me a living wage for podcasting I’ll gladly provide an in-studio voice every week.

Players duking it out to "police themseves"
I’m surprised Dwight didn’t mention this, but Kermit’s blow to Rudy T put all the fisticuffs into “perspective” forever. People who were at the game said it sounded “like a watermelon hitting the sidewalk” when Washington wheeled and threw that fateful punch. The doctors said that the bones in Rudy’s face came within millimeters of ending his life.
I don’t want to go back to the bad old days. The league office stepped in to take control of the violence, and there’s no use complaining about big mouths like Garnett. What you do is box them out, grab the rebound and score on them. If they keep woofing you point up at the scoreboard. I like big guys not because they win “the tale of the tape” but because they defend the paint and secure rebounds. There’s nothing more “manly” than Joel sacrificing his body and taking a legitimate charge. Or Przy sticking up for his teammates by setting a hard screen without resorting to a cheap shot. That’s real toughness.
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
