ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting that Devin Brown will be traded by New Orleans to Chicago for Aaron Gray later today. Presumably, that means Brown, who had been starting alongside Chris Paul in New Orleans' backcourt, will not be available for tonight's game in Portland. Brown is averaging just under 10 points per game this year. By law, every Hornets blogger hated him, mostly because he was not Marcus Thornton. It's unclear whether the celebrations on Bourbon Street today are Saints fans marching to the Super Bowl or Hornets bloggers dancing on Brown's grave. Aaron Gray is likely somewhere in Texas right now, as the Bulls played in Houston on Saturday and will be playing in San Antonio tonight. As the trade hasn't gone official yet and tip is roughly 6 hours away, it is unlikely Gray finds his way to Portland and suits up tonight. This is all assuming the trade goes through ok. In December, the Hornets tried and failed to trade Brown to Minnesota. Update (1:13PM): Marc Stein just posted the full story on ESPN. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
