You were traded to Atlanta, prior to the Blazers’ one and only title. How disappointing was it for you to get traded? And how disappointing was it for you, to not be on that championship team?
Petrie: "It is always hard when some players are traded and that was a somewhat complicated situation.
Petrie and Wicks feuded and Wilkens wanted them both dealt. Weinberg (owner) resisted trading Sidney and fired Lenny. Ramsay was hired and told Inman to trade Wicks, and the rest is history
Getting the rights to Mo Lucas (via the ABA dispersal draft) from the Hawks for an injured Petrie has to be considered one of the best deals in Portland history
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
