So a week or so ago I got pulled over because my head lamp went out. This kind of thing isn't usually a bad thing, but I was driving without my license which may have been suspended at some point and there may have been other matters that would have been bad to have a car looking too carefully into.

So when I can't find my license, he asks if I have anything with my name on it. I give him one of my business cards and he asks me for my d.o.b. He comes back and says I'm suspended in Washington. I feign ignorance; it works. I get a couple tickets and told to not drive my car away because it wouldn't be legal. Thanks for the help officer! I know just what I can do for the next hour while I wait for someone to pick me up.

When I was an undergraduate studying social psychology, this is the professor I worked with. My only legit tier one publication in any field is a publication with this prof. We did lab studies in persuasion and social influence. Interesting stuff; especially the impact of initial impressions.

It's amazing how easy it is to bend other's minds.
