After injuring his kneecap in the preseason, he is now having season-ending surgery after a long rehab and seemingly imminent return. He will miss his entire rookie season without ever playing in a single regular-season game. It's all over for this year. 

I don't really think he's a bust, I think he'll probably return and be an animal. But, it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the media, given that Griffin didn't really have a Durant hanging over his shoulder. It is interesting that his injury sounds a lot like Greg Oden's current injury, though a stress fracture rather than a full break.
