It's a SHAME that the Oregonian and other media outlets are not giving ripcityproject.com their due for breaking the Pendergraph story. Let's try and put some pressure on them to cite their sources. "The Oregonian, Citation Needed."

at least i have chicken.
"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.
But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

I havn't looking into who had the story fist, or where the sorces come from...
but if I interview celebrity X and get some juicy gossip and post it on twitter, then 15 minutes later you also interview celebrity X and get that same information, is it your responsibility to cite me as your source because I had it first. Or what if you read my twitter, and then interviewed celebrity X. In both cases, your source would be celebrity X. You got first hand information from them. Sure you may have been tipped off by me, and used my post as a basis for questions to build the story upon, but if you get all your information from celebrity X, then celebrity X is your source.
If it makes you feel any better, the Oregonian is dying a slow death

Btw, how do you propose putting pressure on them?
I don’t pay for news on their website or on RPC…. should I visit their website and hit their visit counter so I can rant on a comment page? Who cares.
By the way, does anybody care whether it got posted on somebody’s twitter vs somebody else’s website 15 minutes later? When newspapers ruled the media landscape, there was a tangible benefit to being first to report – everybody else was a day behind in the news. Now, being first to report gets you 15 minutes. For basketball news, I can wait 15 minutes.

I was a faithful Oregonian reader
and i read strictly for the Blazer articles ( I really dig Jason Quick)
but that all died once a friend referred me to Blazers Edge. This is really the only site you need as a Blazer fan. Thank God for BEdge!!!
Go Almighty Blazers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How often do you see mainstream media crediting other for breaking stories?
I don’t think the practice is as common today as it once was.
