Baylessgate
All summer I stayed in Columbus (Ohio), except for a few times when I went to Vegas, and then I went to Phoenix to workout with Jerryd Bayless.

bayless already said he did work out with oden...

"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."

-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.

"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."

-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.

Okay but it's still fun to say.

he thought the press about "omg bayless and oden!" was stupid

so decided to mess with people.

I think that’s the gist of it.

"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.

But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

Well, we know that Greg went to Phoenix

I thought the debate was whether Rex travelled to Buckeye country?

not that it matters…the whole “YAY! Bayless’ attitude will rub off on Oden” hype was overblown

(imagine, something like that happening on BE?)

It’s good to hear that GO has a refreshed mindset, but visiting Jerryd wasn’t even a tiny reason for it

Don’t taunt the echo chamber.

My team went to the playoffs in my first year.

That should have been

“don’t echo the echo chamber.”

How was the Team USA mini-camp in Vegas?
GO: It went good. It was a lot of fun, and something I definitely worked hard to prepare for. I was a little nervous at first, but I had some great energy and just played D and rebounded; I did what the coaches asked me to do. And who can turn down a chance to go to Vegas?

I can think of at least one guy who could’ve gone to Vegas (and attended Tim Grg’s big man camp) the last few summers, but chose to stay home in Starkville

first I've heard of it

I know the scouts were very impressed with Dante in Grg’s camp, but I didn’t hear the name Outlaw mentioned. Grg teaches teh fundamentals like foot work, boxing out, position defense, etc. It would be a good idea for all the Blazer big men to attend (besides Joel and Juwan, they could probably teach their own camps if they were so inclined)

Oden and Miller worked out, this summer?
Dime: What did you think of Portland picking up Andre Miller?
GO: I think we brought in a good veteran point guard, a smart guy to help lead the team. I played with a him a little bit over the summer. He’s a really good player. I’m really excited about the team this year. I think everybody is gonna mesh. When we come together and get organized, things are gonna look good.

That’s news, to me

Millergate

It never happened. I’m obsessed.

Bayno probably took Greg to a few places in LA, where Miller also happens to work out.

or, maybe

The two worked out (a little) in Vegas, since Andre was in town for dinner with Nate and KP?

I think Oden is referring to the last two weeks or so.

Since technically it’s still summertime for him.

Right on.

Brandon Roy just destroyed everything in his path. There's your rational analysis -- Dave

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
