Roy's Goal: All Defensive Team
For all of the coverage of media day, I've been surprised that no one has discussed the fact that Roy has made making the All Defensive Team one of his goals for the year.
I'm guessing he didn't mention it during the interviews with the media, but he did mention during his Blazers chat with fans on media day. Here is the video:

Jump to 14:30 in the video to here him talk about the challenge given to him to step up on defense and accepting the challenge by making the All Defensive Team his goal.
If all he does is become an outspoken leader on defense like he is in other facets of the game, the Blazers really could make a big jump in defense this year.

I can't wait for this season to start.
Honestly this year he would have no chance at all making it even if he out does Kobe or Wade because of reputation, but the fact that he’s coming in committed to it will boost the entire teams defensive effort.
We really lucked out with Roy.

If he matched wade in numbers
and the team put together 65 wins (if Broy plays that much lockdown defense, it would be possible) and had home court in the playoffs, I think he would get that respect. I think that’s unlikely, but I do think he will play great defense, get some respect, the team will tout the numbers (without pace adjusting) and make a PR case to try to get him on an all defensive team which would help his case with refs for getting a more elite group of superstar status players.

lol, at the end of B-Roys interview he says in a deep voice "thank you very much"
it was very random, i wonder if he meant to do it or not

does roy get any bonuses for making the all-defensive team?
selfish.
"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.
"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.

No, his bonus kicks in when he just talks about making an all defensive team ; >)
There is more to an athlete than how fast they can run, they also better be able to see what they are doing and know why they are doing it.
