Quick PER breakdowns of all NBA teams
Unfortunately ESPN insider is required :(
But this is a good set of articles by John Hollinger and Ric Bucher, each one about the PER of key players for a chosen NBA team.

Apparently not
Big D from Blog-A-Bull - "Pritchard is such a genius that teams just give him players for free."
Greg Oden - The only other rookie with more than 500 points, 400 rebounds, and 65 blocks in under 1400 minutes played. Since 1946

If he did that, this post would've been worth clicking
I wish there was an option to give negative rec without flagging.

what is wrong with this post?
I think this series is interesting. I know its a bummer that you have to pay to read it but I guarantee you ESPN does not relish putting up a wall between its content and its readers. But coming from someone in the online business, I know that there is a real panic about how else to monetize their content. They have to pay their writers, their technicians, they have to pay for server space, graphic designers, web designers. The online advertising model has proved totally insufficient to support a site like ESPN (or your local newspaper) that generates a lot of original content.
I had Insider for a while, then canceled it when I thought it wasn’t worth it. Then they put Hollinger and bunch of other stuff behind the Insider wal and I got it again. It’s annoying, but I don’t blame them, and I think its a fair price (about $2.50 a month if I recall).

I didn't do that
Because it’s a huge series and I’m not a fan of copying copyrighted content.
Things happen for a reason they say, but I say there's a reason things happen.

Here is the gist of it
Trending up: Greg Oden, +1 PER point
Trending down: Joel Pryzbilla, -2.5 PER
Bucher’s name to know: Andre Miller and how he will fit into the offense

Hollinger also predicts Durant will lead the league in scoring per 40 minutes and his PER will jump 3.5 points
But cautions “The fact that he will score is unquestioned; it’s how he develops in the other phases of the game that will define how high his star ascends. Durant exhilarated with his scoring ability last year, but his inability to pass or defend didn’t translate into superstar production overall.”

I am happy Hollinger is so optimistic about Oden
If he can just stay healthy and out of foul trouble, I think he’d be a near lock for an All-Star appearance (his competition in the West is Emeka Okafor and Andrew Bynum).

The Spurs
Are totally going to list Tim Duncan as a center next season so that he will be voted in as the starting center in the all star game. Just because Yao is no longer with us…. The league with the league he’s not dead.

It doesn't matter what the Spurs list Duncan as.
The decision on whether he is listed as a center or PF on the all-star ballot is made by a panel before the season starts.
