BE Countdown Timer petition

I was browsing the forums like I do nearly every day, and I realized there was no countdown timer to the beginning of the season around here. Is there anyway we can get one on the site? So this is my grand petition request to get the signatures of people who would also like to have a reminder on the main page.

If this is not a possibility, please feel free to post other suggestions. I know there are some pages out on the interweb that will let you put together your own custom timer... but I would like to see a BE timer to remind us all how many days/hours/minutes/seconds are left till... well... absolute greatness.

UPDATE: No need for signatures any more.

Ben once again showed why we keep him around. Check the right side of the page near the bottom of the ads... its kind of small... but its there. Too bad you cant link the countdown timer, record box, and throw the last games final box score together somehow... I know, its reaching. Maybe a good project for someone who knows HTML a bit better then me?

That was not a complaint in any way! Just thinking big is all. Thank you Ben for putting up the countdown timer!!! Seeing that there are still 6 weeks to go is kind of a bummer... but then again... ONLY 6 WEEKS LEFT!!!

or a Doomsday clock for the rest of the league

I’d say it would be set at about 5 minutes to 12

How about a doomsday clock until we start our dynasty of ten championships in a row?

I’d say that’s this coming season, yeah.

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

I like the idea and then maybe also a countdown timer to the next game in season

however, I’ve been thinking……I doubt the start of the season will be anywhere near as awesome as last season. Think about it….

lakers opening night, Oden gets injured
Spurs nailbiter win
And the game of the first half of the season…. the OT game against Houston

How can any opening segment of the season compete with that?

That'd be cool.

Though right now the numbers would be depressingly large. Maybe a countdown to training camp first?

First preseason game

The countdown should be from now until we can actually see our team on the court vs. an opponent, it doesn’t have to be a regular season game.

Countdown timer for game 1!

Also, time to update the team record box on the lower right to “0 – 0”.

I walk around spouting off to random folk

there are 43 days until tip off, most of them scoff at me, but occasionally some one is like Go Blaze, so if there were a timer, at least I would be more accurate with my proclimations!

I'll try anything twice!

Well....

I just checked out the timer, and it depressed me seeing that there is still 42 days to go. It seems like it should be closer than that. Good idea though, I cant wait until it says 0 days 0 hours 1 minute….

Whoot!

Ben rocks! But we already knew that. :)

Wow… 42 days… at least we have the NFL to tide us over.

this is much more satisfying than oregon’s petition process.

Signed

Make it happen. There’s nothing I need more than to watch the minutes and seconds that represent my life between now and and the opening tipoff.

lets get a countdown timer for the countdown timer.

Lets do this….

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside.
