Drinking Sessions (formerly Sept Twelve-pak Drunk Junk)

The weather in the 503 is getting steamy for the short run and liquid reserves are getting low. Anyone mix and match very often to clean out the cupboard and fridge?

On another note, the Wolves cupboard is looking very well stocked with some pretty tasty point guards. In fact, T-wolves fans should be screaming with joy. You could say they are coming up 7 & 7s, this even though untested Lime Ricky, err . . . Rubio Ricky, isn't coming over right away. Instead, they'll get a long chug of Ramon Sessions to quench their thirst since Milwaukee decided not to keep up. Whether they reach their threshold is unknown, but he should make for a intoxicating concoction with Jonny Flynn. If nothing else, it might make some Wolves' fans forget the recent past. And maybe K Love will get more action.

On another note, looks like A.I. is going for the kill. Who is going down is TBD.

Last-call junk: I sure hope we don't get another Duck Fart this weekend. One more might send me over the limit.

Oh as long as I know how to love I know I’ll stay alive;
I’ve got all my life to live,
I’ve got all my love to give and I’ll survive,
I will survive. Hey hey.
It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
Kept trying’ hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart,
And I spent oh so many nights
Just feeling sorry for myself. I used to cry
But now I hold my head up high
And you see me somebody new
I’m not that chained up little person still in love with you,
And so you feel like droppin’ in
And just expect me to be free,
Now I’m savin’ all my lovin’ for someone who’s lovin’ me

Practice STRETCHING

You will get a lot of errant throws. Very important to keep one foot touching the bag and to STRETCH for the throw.

Also, lots of errant throws in the dirt. This will likely catch you off guard as a newbie. It isn’t as hard as it looks, just watch the ball hit the dirt and bounce into your mitt.

You will be scared of it taking a bad hop, or mistiming it. That is natural and normal. Wear your cup, as always.

You will likely have more throws in the dirt than you expect, and very few right at your chest. Be ready.

Bear Grylls is a half a sissy

What a shame Les Stroud gave up Survivorman. The Hell’s Canyon epi is weak, although he does sample off the carcass of some animal which is kinda cool.

The thing about Bear is he takes a crew with him and gets alot of assistance. Rumor has it he often stays in lavish hotels after filming each day only to return at dawn and start by getting cammed yawning and stretching as if he just got up. Big pfffftttt for that.

I normally drink one to four diet soda’s a night at work. I’ve gone over 24 hours without out.

I’m not sure if I can make it without your help. Any prayers that you were sending to Mercury, you should send my way to give me strength to keep away from the seductive lady I like to call Diet Pepsi or Diet Mountain Dew.

Can get more lift in her leg as she tries to raise it to lock away.

Oh, and she held herself up longer with just my finger tips holding her up! For almost 30 secs maybe, before falling over. She can’t do it without being held up at least a little but still— big improvement.

I feel like someone else is living my life today

Learned today that a colleague from my former company, and while in a different department working on projects with me, was admitted to Dartmouth (Tuck), and even got a merit-based scholarship. Not bad. I have about the same entrance test results, different educational path but now on a comparable level, more professional experience but am also about 2 years older. In a bad economy I wish I would be in that program now. Although it might not be the optimal fit the optimum is hard to achieve in education and it would be a very good small program that I like a lot and would provide great knowledge and contacts.

I’m honestly happy for him, and feel bad at the same time now because I didn’t take the time or had the confidence to apply yet. Too slow and perfectionistic :-( Though in the future it might help me that I now know 2-3 people who went there. And on a positive note I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have much time to watch the Blazers.

Can I get some support?

75% of my pre-preproduction is done

I still have to draw in the stairs in the stands, write some ads or junk on the media table, and maybe put in the skyboxes. I’ll move the basket back too, but that requires cutting a hole. I don’t think the Play Dough and filming will take as long as all this coloring.

I sort of drew the skyboxes in

It’s just so much more coloring because they would have to be black since all the lights would be off with no one in them. I might buy a poster pen. I can also get real sloppy up there since it will be so far from the action.

If Kim Clijsters beats Serena Williams tonight, I'll pat myself on the back for calling it on September 9th.
“As it is, I’m projecting that Clijsters will upset Serena Williams in their highly anticipated semifinal match.”

http://www.blazersedge.com/2009/9/9/1022149/92howcouldyou#20969089

For some reason, people don’t respect Clijsters for her versatility. As a skilled tennis player, Clijsters can be an offensive baseliner or defensive baseliner depending on her opponent.

Tonight, Clijsters will dismantle Williams with her efficient counter punching on returns and lack of errors. In the finals, Clijsters will instead let her serve do the talking versus the cute defensive-minded Dane, Caroline Wozniacki, who should win easily in her semifinal match tonight.

Stupid people have stupid ideas.

You made a 50/50 prediction 3 days before the match?

I’m not sure that’s bragworthy.

How much do you know about tennis?

That wasn’t a fifty-fifty prediction, with these being just a few of the reasons.

1. Kim Clijsters is on the comeback trail after not playing for almost two years after having a child!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2009/mar/26/tim-henman-kim-clijsters-wimbledon

2. Clijsters has had trouble with Serena Williams in the past, with Williams holding a 7-1 record in their meetings against each other prior to tonight.

3. Upon winning tonight, Clijsters was the first woman to make a U.S. Open finals as an unseeded participant.

http://www.cbssports.com/tennis/story/12175487

If you thought my prognostication was a fifty-fifty bet, then you’re sorely mistaken in every way, shape, and form.

I'm sorry I snapped at you in a snide manner, especially since I'm being a bit of a braggart.

Yet, before I stop being a boastful, bombastic blowhard, I’ll let the Associated Press verify that Kim Clijsters victory over Serena Williams was an upset.

“Kim Clijsters has upset Serena Williams in a U.S. Open semifinal that ended when the defending champion was docked a point for yelling at an official who called a foot fault.”

http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/usopen09/news/story?id=4468762

On a final note, I’m sure the next prediction I make will totally blow up in my face.

Well, one could argue that somebody who's into a 50-year-old, washed-up rapper ...

isn’t worth being with in the first place. That still must’ve been an awkward experience, though.

no kidding.

Serena shouldn’t have gone off like that, but that line judge should be fired. made the wrong call in the wrong situation. i don’t know how you call a foot fault on a point like that. plus, she didn’t even get the call right. indefensible. i wanted Clijsters to win, but that ending was really lame.

by DrivetheLane on Sep 12, 2009 8:43 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I can't blame Serena Williams for flipping her lid there, as I'd've thrown a profanity-laced tirade ...

if I were in her shoes. As it is, this racket concerning piss-poor officiating is reminiscent of the horrible blown calls during Williams’ loss against Jennifer Capriati in the 2004 U.S. Open.

Wierd science, this experiment has been done at several US university's

A common earth worm can be trained to run a maze to find the worm food at the other end, they learn to do it and cut their time in half once they get it figured out. If you slice up a trained worm and feed it to an rookie worm the rookie will run the maze in trained worm time the first time.
