It's crazy that

only two years ago, Blazer-mania was still ebbing enough that the players just wandered the mezzanine giving autographs and such. Last year there was twice as many people there, and for obvious reasons, the players did not stand around with the fans. This year, I’d expect even more people, but it should still be good times, especially for those who’ve never been.

I’d recommend that you get there early to get a good position in line, and get better seats. With a little diligence you can easily get in the first 5 rows.

unfortunately i won't be going

but i’ll be able to meet and greet the players later in the year, so it’s all good (as long as I’m given enough advanced notice that is).

"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.

But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

RT: players did not stand around with the fans.

there was a player “greeting” at every door, and I know Greg was posing for pictures

When reached 39 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!

not sure what RT stands for

but two years ago, the players really were standing around with fans, all of them.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
