Didn't see this posted anywhere else. But yesterday Hoopshype was linking to a rumor that Portland and New York have been involved in trade talks regarding a sign and trade for David Lee. (sorry don't have the link)
Things have been slow around here lately so I figured we could discuss it. It appears that the deal Portland wants is Outlaw plus Blake for Lee. But apparently New York won't make a deal without Rudy being included.
MY THOUGHTS: I think it's been discussed to death around here why Lee isn't the best fit for Portland. Same as Milsap. He's too good to play behind someone like LaMarcus. However, I think Lee would be a huge upgrade over Outlaw so this move would make a lot of sense.
I'm not sure that acquiring Andre Miller makes Blake expendable. If anything, Bayless is the one I would look at trading, but I don't think the salaries would work.
I don't have a problem trading Rudy but we better be sure we get someone who is a great fit in return. I'm not sure David Lee is the right guy. Especially if we're only getting him for one year.
Overall, I think this could be a decent deal for Portland and I wouldn't complain at all if it happened, but I'm not sure if it's the best move to make.
