Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News: "Don't be stunned. It's nothing new. It's one of the most consistent things in the NBA, really. Stephen Jackson wants out, satisfying the tenets of Cohan's Law: If the Warriors can screw something up, they will. Of course, if the Warriors had a different owner, a different team president, a different general manager, a different coach, and a different roster … everything would be great! Until then, this latest Jackson episode is only the latest instance of typical Warriors foppery. What's special: This is a nightmare identifiable to team president Robert Rowell, who befriended Jackson and then personally negotiated an unnecessary three-year extension for the aging player last year. Contrary to the better logic of the rest of the league, owner Chris Cohan and Rowell believed Jackson would be their ambassador and team leader for the long term. Now Jackson is telling them -- via an unrefuted interview with Dime magazine -- that he doesn't want to waste his time on a team as bad as the Warriors. It's not a betrayal so much as it's a wink at the Warriors' flagrant idiocy. He got his money from the dumb, bad team. Time to try to get traded to a good, smart team."

Yes, Stephen Jackson used the idiocy of the Golden State Warriors ownership and upper management ...

to his own advantage with that contract extension he received last year. My guess is that Jackson will be dealt in a salary dump just like Jamal Crawford was earlier this off-season.

In any event, the Cleveland Cavaliers don’t make sense after signing Jamario Moon and Anthony Parker, the Houston Rockets don’t make sense after signing Trevor Ariza, the San Antonio Spurs don’t make sense after trading for Richard Jefferson, and the New York Knicks don’t make sense for financial reasons.

On the other hand, though, the Dallas Mavericks can afford to take on “Captain Jack” — as both a player and a contract — while sending the Warriors a cost-cutting package in return for him.

Although Greg Buckner’s partially guaranteed contract and Shawne Williams’ expiring contract — as well as a 2012 first-round draft pick and, perhaps, a 2014 first-round draft pick — might not appear to be a coup, it’d nevertheless remove a huge dent in Chris Cohan’s bank account.

Stupid people have stupid ideas.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
