ESPN MVP Predictions
I might be a homer, but how in the world does Kevin Durant and Derick Rose get votes in this.
Yet no love for Chris Paul or Brandon Roy... Some writers need to turn in their credentials.

No idea.
Some writers do this type of stuff to try and bring attention to these players. Like if we see Kevin Durant or Derrick Rose’s often enough on similar lists we might someday be convinced they’re in the somewhat comparable players.
But as far as the specific writers, I’m going to say probably the guy who wrote that Durant could one day be Lebron James except better, might be the culprit. And the Derrick Rose would have to be a Boston fan.
Surprised Dwight Howard only got two votes, it seems like he only has to work on basic post moves (and just keep drilling on those) to become The dominant player. I don’t think any of these other players have such an easy path. I mean even if D12 just added a consistent T-Shot (not even a true hook, drop step, or turn around jumper) think of how unstoppable he would be.

What the ####?
how does durant and rose get a vote and brandon roy doesnt?
Roy, Aldridge, Oden, Rudy, Batum, Outlaw, Webster, Bayless, Blake, Miller, Joel... Holy crap!
answer: two voters are idiots
Voting for Brandon Roy would be really going out on a limb and worthy of a raised eyebrow, but Rose and Durant just dumb votes.
IMO Roy would be a very dark horse in the race
because to win it he would rely on a similar system to how Dirk won it. Best player on the best team. The blazers will be elite next year, however the odds are strongly against them having the best record in the league. If it is very close, I would expect lebron or kobe to get the nod based off history.
Umm...
LBJ is #1, Kobe is #2 and D-Wade is #3. Wasn’t this last year’s MVP race?? I don’t see Kobe winning anymore MVPs unless he just has a spectacular year—which I don’t see happening with someone who is 31. Dwayne Wade is slowly falling apart. LBJ could get another MVP award. But who the heck voted for Durant and Rose!! Are these two even top 20 players Maybe Durant is, but certainly not Rose. I’m surprise that B-Roy and CP3 didn’t get 1 vote.
Dwyane Wade is 27
That’s not slowly falling apart. People have been hyping up Durant like crazy this past off season, but I agree that Rose has absolutely no chance nor does he even deserve a mention at this stage.
The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

How many games has Wade missed in the NBA?
I’d put the over/under at 100, and bet the over.

If OKC tripled last season's win total, that's the only way Durant enters the mix...
…for all the talk of their bright future, they sure haven’t been piling up the wins (although I will grant that all that cap room and the stockpiled draft picks do loom ominously). But one would think that an up-and-coming MVP candidate would not only have the requisite great stat line, but would also, in one hypothesis, had done a great deal to quickly turn his team from a cellar-dweller into a division champ (and likely future playoff threat). We all know and love that story, but until Mr. Durant’s team shows similar improvement (I’m not holding my breath unless they score huge with free agency), he has no business being in the MVP mix, no matter how gaudy his scoring line is.
