I tell ya

do you ever get that feeling before you do something that you know is wrong and it tugs at you and and begs you not to do it but for some reason something overrides that common sense mechanism and you do it only to totally regret having done it after you did it?

That’s how I feel about reading the Trade Drawer. Anybody got a spare cyanide capsule handy?

There´s another Gasol in the making.

Adria Gasol was already 6-foot-7 last december (born in 1994), and still growing. He might be taller than his brothers and he also plays basketball. Link

1968 a 6/18 JD was followed that same day with a 6/18 - 6/19 editon

but there was a seperate JD for 6/19
It’d be a little hard to count to see how many landed in the same 24 hour period.
The 6/18-6/19 edition had 732 commnets + 1968 = 2700 on the nose
The actual 6/19 JD still had a whopping 1213 comments
That’s 3913 for a Thursday & Friday total, Tuesday 6/16 that same week had 988 comments
http://www.blazersedge.com/fanposts/active/29
6/17 (Wed) JD had 1579 comments
http://www.blazersedge.com/fanposts/active/30

impr3essive 3 day total
06/17/09 1579
06/18/09 1968
06/18/09 732
06/19/09 1213
total 5492
an average of 1831 per day for those 3 days.
And yes, i ignored the missp3ell above.

Since that’s a link to an active page #, that link will probably only be good for about a day.

if you want to add Tuesday's 988 comments (6/16)

you get this 4 day total

06/17/09 1579
06/18/09 1968
06/18/09 732
06/19/09 1213
total 6480
avg of 1620 per day, for 4 days

I was wearing my green and yellow glasses while he was wearing his hater glasses so we made this bet. If the ducks go 0 and 3 in their three non-conference games I owe him $10. if they go 1-2 I owe him five. If they go 2-1 no one owes anything. If they go 3-0 ben owes me $10 and he has to wear a “team dougall” shirt to bedge night.

Joel is the only guy who can’t shoot. This team would probably be top 3 in offensive efficiency and wouldn’t be too shabby on defense either (Ariza+Joel). I bring nothing but shooting off the bench. I don’t need to lock down opposing 2nd units, I need to outscore them.

Chemistry would be an issue. I do think that those players are pretty much better versions of what the Blazers employ, so Nate’s offense would fit. Bosh plays like Aldridge, Jameer shoots as well as Steve, etc

I think chemistry would be a real issue with this squad as everyone would be trying to make out with Mike Miller, and then someone would, but then they would realize that they are basically living out the plot of the crying game, and awkwardness would ensue.

Point of points. Miller can only play with happily marred dudes

Already did this a while ago: High value mix

Derrick Rose (5)
Brandon Roy (6)
Nicolas Batum (3)
Paul Millsap (4)
Marc Gasol (3)

Bench that can cover all positions:
Lou Williams (2) → Underrated, can play both guard spots
Joel Przybilla (2) → Grossly underrated
Danilo Gallinari (2) → Can play both forward spots and will be good this year
(Alternatively Mike Miller or Marreese Speights)

Coach: Rick Adelman

I would have also liked Marvin Williams or Thaddeus Young but they are too expensive. Interesting idea, you are often just 1 or 2 points short from a really really good team.

Evaluate the definition of the word “shrink”

"I'm tired" -Me

by 92wastheyear on Aug 23, 2009 3:48 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

seems reasonable and is explained in the first paragraph

those checks only have relative value in the sense that it is relative to their purchasing power. If their purchasing power decreases then they have essentially shrunk. Doesent really matter if the face value on the check went down or the price of goods and services rise as the net effect is less purchasing power.

I distrust the media for a lot of reasons, but I just dont see it in this case.

plus not until the 8th paragraph is the amount mentioned (after a little math that you have to do yourself) and that the difference is about is approx $2 a month and doesn’t even apply to everyone. Seems to me by reading this, that purpose of the article is to scare S.S. beneficiaries ….not inform them (and us).

Doesn’t it feel good to think outside the sedge? My first attempt looked a lot like this (with Karl). Then I decided I wanted my team to be in Vegas, and crazy.

it does

although it is tough to not have at least Przy because i think he may be the best deal on the board.

I find it amusing that I changed teams by trading Brandon, Nic, and Przy for Manu, Battier, Marc and feel just exactly the same about the team’s chances even though I don’t think I would do that nor could I get that deal to be done

The Thunder are bringing in Mo Cheeks as an assistant

Not sure I would want that as a “young” head coach like Brooks.

by Norsktroll on Aug 23, 2009 4:29 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I thought Brooks was into this, and it was supposedly a testament to his security rather than an indictment.

I think Cheeks has shown that he is a little too much “good cop” to be an effective head coach, but he could be a really good lead assistant as he is good at being a sympathetic and relatable part of the coaching staff

If Wade is clever and really wants more titles, he should NOT opt out next season

http://www.shamsports.com/content/pages/data/salaries/heat.jsp

Then the Heat would have over $20 million to sign LeBron or Bosh, and re-sign Wade in 2011 when he has Bird rights. Eastern Conference dominance.

I'm in an alternate dimension

I come back from a weekend in the place farthest away from civilization in the universe, and two things have happened:

1. BRP and TIH got the absolute rear shaft regarding essay contest voting
2. Today’s junk drawer is a re-hash of another post on Bedge within the last two weeks. Craziness!

Anyways, regarding my weekend in the sticks of Myrtle Point. This weekend I learned that people who live on large plots of land care about one and only thing: WHERE THE HELL IS MY TRUE AND PROPER PROPERTY LINE?"

Seriously, I spend three hours in the woods today with my wife’s uncle, trying to find a metal pole that sticks out of the ground about 8 inches, which is the original true marker of one corner of his property. Without knowing where it is, some mischevious neighbor could log trees over the line AND GET AWAY WITH IT!!!!!!. Ugh. Since he doesn’t have the internet (of course he doesn’t), I had to go home and Google Earth the property so he can find the correct place to look for his precious pole.

I love being from the city.

And my wife was messing with the fire for a long time so I axed, “Is it easier for you to be close to the fire since your eyes are already squinty?”

They’re from S. Korea, but I still make fun of them.

Actually, my Korean brother hates Asians more than anyone I know. He says they always ask him for discounts at work, and pay for everything in cash.

My daughter is two

in that situation, sometimes we just have to put her in her room, close the door with her nightlight on, and just let her cry it out.

This place where we're storing our stuff and living from time to time is

pathetic. The wildlife we watch daily when we’re here and the constantly changing but sunny weather is actually worth it.

yesterday

My MIL’s cat brought us a cute chipmunk that was still alive. I felt bad for it so I gave him and Dumpster the cat a pet and then the chipmunk hid under me. I distracted Dumpster long enough to let the chipmunk make a break for it.
