RUDY INTERVIEWED BY "GIGANTES" (GIANTS)
In a long interview published this week by "GIGANTES" (only available in paper, so there´s no link) Rudy talks about many subjects including the Blazers and the Spanish national team. Here you have the quotes about the Blazers:
About Andre Miller: "I think he´s a veteran player who knows very well the NBA and can help us, the young players with short experience in NBA and play offs, a lot, so we can pass some rounds."
About Andre Miller being the kind of point guard who fits very well with Rudy´s game: "That´s something we´ll see when we meet and know each other on the court. What it´s important is that he´s a proved PG who can improve us a lot. Hope he knows his role and helps us to reach our goals for the next year."
About Sergio leaving Portland: "Personally, he was very good for me, because he helped me in every aspect, inside and outside the court. But I look after him and what he was looking for, what he wanted. To have another opportunity, another team, and a coach who could give him the minutes he wants, for playing with that easy we are used to see him. Something McMillan couldn´t do (give more playing time to Sergio). I´m very happy Sergio has a new project."
About his performance in the Olympics, helping him going into the NBA. "Indeed, my performance against USA, dunking on Howard (he didn´t mentioned Howard, but I don´t know how translate: “tener una jugada muy mediatica”), it helped me to get fans´ support in every moment. After that, along the season, my work has been getting better and people have valued it amazingly well."

Thank you for the translation, amlmart1
You da Man. Glad to read that Rudy is stoked about Andre Miller.
If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.
Even a dog knows the difference between being stumbled over and being kicked.
I was amused by
I hope he knows his roll. Makes me think of Rudy going “MINE” and then marking his territory. Translations are interesting things, so I don’t take it seriously, but i definitely was amuse.d
"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.
But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

you have no idea how much we appreciate the links and translations. ;-)

Great translation
Thanks!
Also, I believe that “play a game with much media exposure” = “tener una jugada muy mediatica”
Better translation: "Dunking on Dwight so hard he calls me Spanish Kryptonite."

could he have said "metodica"
that he has a very methodical game… I could understand that and is it apt or not?
Everything comes gradually and at its appointed hour--Ovid
"something with much media exposure" is the correct translation for the Spanish adjective "mediatico"
He wasn´t talking about the game though, but about a single play, the dunk on Howard.
italian and spanish
are understandable to each other if spoken slowly, same with portuguese and read french (don’t know if the frenchies can read spanish thou), all hail the allmighty roman empire!

De todas esas lenguas entiendo los textos, también en portugués, pero me cuesta entenderlas habladas. Y sólo soy capaz de expresarme en francés, sin saber escribir en este idioma. Sin contar el español y un poquito de inglés, por supuesto.

muy beuno - Thanks for the translation!
Romance me with that Roy rainbow shot which took flight from way beyond the arc and sailed so high that before it came back down to earth sealing the victory, it kissed the rafters and said "You're mine baby."
"tener una jugada muy mediatica"
I think it roughly translates to “a media friendly play” or something to that effect. I think he meant it was a play that the media really liked.
