Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Bowen is one of those veteran specialists that could be very helpful and critical come playoff time for scrappy defense or should an injury happen. We may be able to obtain him by simply releasing the overseas contracts.

You hate him on another team but would probly love him on yours. Plus he's known to be really funny, so I'm sure he'd mesh with some of our young jokesters.

Look at the Lakers and Celtics...you can't be too deep...

The Monty Williams angle

the fact that Bowen and Monty are close friends is about the only thing that makes me think that this could potentially happen. Unfortunately, Portland doesn’t have an “exception” or enough money left under the cap, plus the logjam at SF makes it awfully hard to believe that Bruce would be coming to PDX

logjam

Ill call it a logjam when Martell plays 10 straight games.

I said the same thing about Darius Miles, last summer

“wake me when he plays 10 games”

what a nightmare that was

Only if we can get him real cheap.

Say, the veterans minimum. Which probably won’t happen.

he'll retire before he accepts the minimum

at least according to the NBA rumors guy…

At least he's not Tony Parker

I can’t stand super quick PGs that can score from anywhere and marry super hot women. I’m glad we don’t have that guy on our team.

Haha, have you watched him play lately?

He’s getting worse, a lot worse. Can’t defend like he used to and is only gonna get worse. There’s also the small matter that he’s the dirtiest player in the league.

I hear what you are saying about age, but he still does his thing.

And as far as being dirty goes… That was his freaking J. O. B; He was the axe-man.

Its just like this last year, when everyone was like we need someone to be tough… yadda-yadda-yadda. He would be that guy; unbridled toughness and intensity.

Bowen sometimes did stupid stuff. I’m thinking face kicking Wally Sczfkberbiak was maybe not the best idea from a strictly P.R. standpoint, but seriously… given the opportunity, wouldn’t you face kick him?

I heart taxes.

putting your foot under a jumpshooter's does not fall under

unbridled toughness and intensity. Its just dirty play by a punk, it would bring bad karma.

If we're talking about the same play,

and I think we are, I 100% disagree that it was intentional, but alas… That is probably off topic.

I heart taxes.

Bruce Bowen is a dirty player, so screw him.

I wish Ray Allen had taken him out a few years ago.

Stupid people have stupid ideas.

bowen is a shadow of his former self

but i’d take him for a small contract just to have his presence in the lockerroom provided he won’t get upset playing the role of a mentor and benchwarmer.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
