Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

too early to tell what actually happened. don't really care, not all that surprised...I guess bad things just tend to follow mr. randolph around wherever he goes huh

just a great pic of Zach on the tmz site

looks like he’s about to chomp down on some pizza right there on the court. I guess you don’t get the nickname “fat-bo” for nothing.

The Blazers as a whole are far more like my wife than like me in the sense of their physicality on defense.

OH GOD

he definitely deserves to be playing on a team like clips and memphis.
HE FREAKIN EARNS IT

"shaq and zach randolph have the same trainer... "

best one liner i ever heard.

Dude never changes

And that’s why I’m glad he’s long gone.

NOOOOOOOOOOO

I don’t believe it. Zachary wouldn’t do something like this… it’s too unbecoming of him.

He changed. He was starting a new page in a new book.

This couldn’t have really happened.

But I like to be here. Oh, I like it a lot! Said the Cat in the Hat. To the fish in the pot.

Yeah, lets convict him. If it's in the press it must be true.

Besides, I never have understood why we waste all that money on a legal system.

Did you read the article? An incident that supposedly happened last year and the alledged victim is just now filing a lawsuit. Last time I checked, the actions this Ferguson guy says occured constitute Assualt and Battery. That is a criminal offense, not something you file a civil suit on.

Jumping all over Randolph on this shows either a lack of common sense, a lack of class, or both. Perhaps he is guilty of the charges. But don’t you think you should wait until you have ore reliable details than a TMZ press clipping?

Zach randolph

thats why I used the word "allegedly" in my title

and my first line was

too early to tell what actually happened.

settle down dude. its freaking zach randolph. its possible he didn’t rape that stripper or drag race down broadway or possess that handgun or smoke that marijuana or get that DUI. I don’t know, I just said bad things happen to follow mr. randolph.

and criminal offenses can additionally be addressed in civil court. a famous example being OJ simpson being found not guilty in criminal court but held responsible in civil court.

As jscot points out ...

… I wasn’t referring to your post, just some of the comments.

I was going to reply to a specific comment and then a couple more popped up. I didn’t want to single out one person. I was addressing the larger issue of people putting too much stock in what they see reported in the media. These days what passes for “news” isn’t much above the level of gossip, or worse, opinion.

ah.

one must always consider the source (TMZ) but thats what the link is for. people can go to the original article, read the info for themselves, draw their own conclusions, and post their thoughts in the comments.

this post is hardly “news” but its quasi-blazer related and hey, its the middle of august. there just isn’t a whole lot going on in blazerland!

My first thought

was, " this looks like a scam". I don’t think Z-Bo did what this guy said he did. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that people do this to Zach alot more then they seem to do it to other professional athletes. Yes there are other cases out there, but I would be willing to bet there are few athletes who have the list of complaints that Zach does.

Opinion

Just to clarify, if it is MY opinion, that is better than news.

The probability of there being anything there, based on that report, is very low.

Zach’s problem is that he has earned a reputation that makes people around here all too willing to believe this stuff. But that doesn’t mean there’s anything in this one, and I doubt there is.

When I rule the world, everyone will know how to use Excel.

Sounds fake

Z-Bo asks for trouble sometimes, but getting in trouble in the past makes it easier to get in fake trouble in the future by people who know he’ll want to avoid being dragged into the public spotlight as a ne’erdowell again… such as this guy trying to shake Z-Bo down for 250K, and now all the way down to 25K.

A year later. With no charges filed.

It’s a scam.

Morty, Morty

You just believed a lawyer.

Not just any lawyer.

Z-Bo’s lawyer.

He’s almost as likely to be lying as the guy who’s trying to shake Z-Bo down.

Almost.

Ahhh, Z-Bo

I can’t say I ever enjoy reading stories like this, and I certainly don’t know if this is true or not …. but every time I hear about these alleged indiscretions by Z-Bo, Miles, or who ever, I have to admit, I crack a small smile, shake my head ever so slightly, and think to myself, “Man, I’m glad this guy isn’t our problem anymore.”

Keep on keepin’ on, Zach.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside.
