BEdge gets attention from Yahoo Sports..
This may "just" be a blog for Blazers fans by Blazers fans... and we all may buy into what Dave and Ben say about this being one of the "best" blogs around because of the content that the writers and bloggers add to this site... but when I stumble across a mainstream website like Yahoo Sports that has an article that links to BlazersEdge and helps build up the credibility of this beloved site... well, we have to point it out.
Check this link: Apparently the Andre Miller career story recieved this global attention. Great job.
Has anyone else seen any credibility boosting mentions, links or shout-outs elsewhere in the whole WWW? Here is the goods that I have stumbled across....
Recent NBA News:
PF Leon Powe was signed by Cleveland Cavaliers.
PF Glen Davis was re-signed by Boston Celtics.
GM Kevin Pritchard told by Magic that he "caught a break" by missing on Turkoglu.
FC Fabricio Oberto was signed by Washington Wizards.
ESPN Insider John Hollinger "I didn't like Andre Miller going to the Blazers if it was going to cost them $40 million. At $14 million guaranteed? At that price, I can talk myself into it."
This is my favorite list to go back and check every week or two... Chad Ford of ESPN's list of Top Remaining Free Agents for 2009.
Rumors:
The Utah Jazz have reduced Boozer jerseys by 50%... its anyone's guess as to where Boozer ends up playing.
PF Joe Smith is still an unsigned Free-Agent... Salary Cap Geeks: Is signing Smith possible for PDX?
PG Ramon Sessions is still available and won't sign with the Knicks... anyone here think they'd rather have Ramon over Miller?
........... all in all, I feel pretty good about the off-season for the Blazers so far. Sure, the "only" signing was Andre Miller, but the CORE is all back from 54 wins last season, Martell Webster will be reinfused, and the Blazers had another promising (albiet not uber-sexy) draft adding 4 more names into the talent pool. I likey... Now that the Andre Miller deal has sank in, what do you think?

Hey, I've always wanted to be a Power Forward...
Yahoo and SBNation sleep together, which is why you can find stuff from BE and other SBN sites via Yahoo Sports. I’m not sure how they’re related, money-wise, but I do know they are in partnership and thus Yahoo Sports isn’t really a neutral site.
Which is not to imply that Dave and Ben don’t do an excellent job, because they do.
The biggest SBN site in terms of traffic, as an aside, is CelticsBlog, believe it or not. I think it has something to do with their message board. I would have lost $5 on that in a bar bet, I thought the Bedge was bigger since it is obviously more active. But those guys are the traffic kings, true fact.

celtics blog does astounding amounts of traffic — i think you’re right that it’s the forums… also the boston metro area’s population (roughly double portland’s) plus the national celtics brand can’t hurt either.
i think we beat them pageviews per capita though lol

We've been #1 network wide
plenty of times as well. It changes back and forth. Either way, both blogs are huge and probably merit the traffic.

No Bedgers should ever go to CelticsBlog
We must be #1 in this, too! We must rule in everything, I say, EVERYTHING!
Oh, wait. I keep getting my pep talks mixed up between Bedge and my private army. Never mind.
When I rule the world, everyone will know how to use Excel.

They've already banned half of the Bedge over there anyway, so going there is fruitless...

I always pictured you as a Power Forward, y'know, the backup banger we REALLY need
It was a great write-up, so I’m not at all shocked that it’s getting some national attention. But I’m a little surprised comrade Benski didn’t mention this, since I grabbed it off his Twitter. The Celtics blog does a fine job as far as traffic, but BE does allright too, eh?

If Joe will wait and sign for 2.5 mil right before the season starts, then yeah. But what would make even more sense is to deal Outlaw+capspace for a backup PF before the deadline because if you “just” add Smith it just adds to the logjam at SF by squeezing Travis’ PT at the PF

Yahoo takes alot of articles written in the SBN team site. So if you got something interesting to say, feel free to write it down, and maybe itll end up next to kelly dwyers articles lol
