So maybe Von Wafer isn't the next Jordan afterall?
Looks like Baron Von Wafer is joining Linus Kleiza in Greece to play for Olympiakos.
Good riddance. You know its bad when the Rockets, a team that will be in desperate need of scoring this upcoming season, aren't willing to resign him.

Not necessarily
They have no salary cup so he can probably get paid more $ there. Heck, Josh Childress is making over $10M a year in Greece, which I doubt he could make in the US.

Good Riddance
He messed us up last spring. I remember him missing once in five games. Of course, he passed that often too.

Without Yao they were already dead to us.
Scola won’t get wide open jumpers if Yao isn’t on the floor. Driving the lanes will be more difficult with a Blazer’s center waiting for you.
I’m interested to see how well the team does when Battier has to be more of a main contributor.

Yup. In the Euroleague, with Wafer, Kleiza, Childress and half the Greek national team. If they find enough balls to go around.

In the end
I feel bad for the Rockets…even before we were matched up against them I wanted it to be Portland and Rockets for the WCF, or at least for them to go far after we were eliminated.

he's definitely good enough to play in the nba
they aren’t “unwilling” to resign him. they can’t offer him anything other than i would guess the veteran minimum which is less than 2 million. he can make far more in greece with no taxes and with nearly all of his expenses covered.
what would you do?

If I was Von Wafer?
I’d legally change my name to Vanilla Wafer
The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

Yeah
In Europe players also don’t have their taxes paid for by the team, they usually get accommodation as well. It’s a pretty sweet deal as long as you aren’t playing on some backwater Russian team where you don’t even receive paychecks at times.
