15 dollars is pretty steep
to watch games where only 1/4 of the players will make it on to a NBA team

i think the nfl has blackout clauses as well
but they never get exercised bc their games actually sell out. i dunno i think thats how it works.

Baseball is far worse.
If a game is being shown on Fox in any market it’s blacked out completely on their league pass equivalent. For instance, if the Mets are being shown on Fox in NYC but the Sox are being shown in Boston, the Mets game is still blacked out in Boston despite the fact that it’s not available on TV. So, displaced Mets fans in Beantown have no way of seeing the game. I cannot believe they let Fox negotiate such a powerful contract. Terrible business.
Anyway, I was looking forward to summer league a little, but no way in hell I’m paying anything for it. I’ll just catch the games they show on NBA TV.

Oh its horrible
When I was in college in IA I couldn’t use MLB.TV to get any White Sox/Cubs/Royals/Twins/Cardinals games because they were all somehow in the market that I was in.

that right there
means I’ll be bootlegging it.
This is also why I didn’t buy NBA pass online. Yeah, watching other teams is cool, but If I can’t watch the blazers, it’s no deal as I can watch it for free online ANYWAY and it’s simply honoring the product and a stupid law (which is stupid because the choices I want as a consumer are not at all available).
"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.
But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

interesting
I made a note about not owning a TV and how the NBA continues to not get my money because they continue to not sell the things i want… and it didn’t show up in the post.

that's how I'll watch it
if games are going to be blacked out.

I love the Dwight, Rondo, Paul, Roy, Durant banner.
Yeah they all started there, but guess what you wont get to watch them. Well, maybe Durant.

ditto
All the folks I tried to convince to go to Vegas with me, would be mad at me. I told them games were cheap.

I paid a LOT more
to go there and watch the past two years. I’d have no issue this year if it weren’t for blackouts.
