Can we grab Sessions and Kurt Thomas
From this article it sounds like Ersan Iyasova maybe coming back to the bucks. If that happens we could drop a deal on them to do a sign and trade of Sessions and possibly take Thomas off their hands at the same time.
Probably not ideal for them or us, but it gets a cheaper younger version of A Miller and could net us a bit of experience in the front court.
Also, people should be reading Brew Hoops as it has really good main page content.

Thomas could be acquired for a straight trade with Outlaw
And for Sessions KP could offer him the 7.7mil capspace + escalators for 5 years and MIlwaukee would probably have to negotiate a sign and trade or cry “uncle”
If that’s what KP wants to do, it would be about as simple as any scenario out there

I don't think it can happen the way you suggest
I believe that if a RFA is signed to an offer sheet and then the offer is matched by his existing club, the player can not be traded to the team he signed the offer sheet with for 1 year.
Kind of a silly rule and I wasn’t familiar with it myself until earlier this week, but I read that that is the case. Correct me if I’m wrong. Makes it even harder to swing S&T deals with RFAs. The Bucks would have to believe we were about to sign him and then negotiate a trade with us, then they sign him and trade him to avoid losing him without compensation.
One other thing about Kurt Thomas
Because he was acquired in the Spurs trade around draft night, KT cannot be re-dealt for 60 days (late August) So any S&T with Sessions could not include Thomas (or Bowen) until that time
But like I said above, KP could deal Outlaw for Thomas straight up at any time after the 60 days, if that’s what he wanted to do to fill the backup PF slot. But from the looks of things, KP is looking for a different solution and is not pursuing older veteran PFs (McDyess’ agent said Portland’s agent hasn’t contracted him, etc)
I think the Blazers see Bayless as becoming an equivalent talent to Sessions, so I’m not sure they’re going to sink a LTC into Ramon when they’ve already got Jerryd in the “pipeline” I suppose they could use Bayless in the sign and trade with the Bucks, if they saw RS as being a significant upgrade in the future (Clearly RS is more ready “now” to lead a ballclub at PG)

Sessions and
Bayless are night and day in terms of skill sets
Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

equivalent =/= equal in all aspects or every detail
Who wrote this?
Bayless…could well turn out to be everything the Blazers need in a point guard and more. He can defend. He can drive. He’s physically imposing. Whatever natural point guard instinct he lacks (if any) could be made up for by his backcourt partner. If he develops an outside shot he’ll be downright frightening.

I dont see why you
would do a Outlaw for Thomas trade without trying to include someone like Sessions in the deal. Thomas doesent have a lot in the tank, but I think they would be more amenable to letting go of Sessions if we took back a contract (maybe Gadzuric?) like Thomas, who is pretty expendable if Ilyasova comes over.
Also, they (Brew Hoop) previously mentioned that other teams would only be able to offer 5/32.4mil, but if they do sign Ilyasova then I think that really opens up the floodgates on Sessions as they will probably not want to pay luxury tax on a borderline playoff team and could only offer him 4mil to start at.

I've been on the target Sessions bandwagon for a while...
and have thought that they might want Outlaw in a S&T. I could see a Sessions and Thomas deal with Outlaw going out. If the Bucks believe we are going to make an offer that they would be unwilling to match then they might prefer this to losing him without compensation.
That said, the more time passes with us not rumored to be talking to the agents of the available PGs, the more I think we are going to land Hinrich or Harris (probably Hinrich, hoping Harris) in a lopsided trade. If it turns out to be Hinrich, I’m going to be interested to watch Sessions develop. I think the Hinrich trade is the better course at least in part because Milwaukie can match a Sessions offer, but I’m not sure we won’t look back in a few years and regret not making a run at Sessions.
While I would personally settle for Hinrich/Bayless, Sessions is an intriguing option. I love his playing style, but his absolute lack of a three point threat would clog up our offense a little bit.
draft the stache
In his last college season he hit 38%
In his first NBA season 43%, but on a very low number of attempts.
His shot is not downright bad, he just doesn’t use it a lot since he knows he has better weapons from midrange and especially when setting up other players to score and going to the rim himself. Bayless is more athletic drawing fouls around the rim and dunking it, but Sessions draws just as many fouls with his crafty style.
I would absolutely love to have both. The chances that neither becomes at least a serviceable starter is slim to none.
If you want to trade our spare parts for Devin Harris, I have three quarters I would like to trade for your dollar
I'd be very happy to end up with both of them
I love Sessions and Kurt would be a very good choice for muscle and experiance at the backup PF.
I have been wondering why we don’t talk about Sessions more. Are we so sure that Bayless is our man that we don’t want to take a chance on Sessions?
C*mcast sucks!
I'm afraid that KP is worried that Sessions would stifle Bayless
I don’t see what is wrong with making Bayless earn his minutes. If Blake is the starter and Bayless isn’t as good…he’ll ride the pine. Same if the starter is Hinrich or Sessions. So Sessions and Bayless are both young… who cares! If Bayless develops PG skills he’ll earn his shot in this league. If he is an undersized “2” he’ll likely flame out pretty quick.
If the price is right on Sessions
he might be a nice backup if Bayless pans out as he would definitely give another look to the offense. He might also be able to play with Bayless at the 2 for stretches as well.

Sessions makes a lot of sense.
He’s still young (23 years) and has time to develop a jumpshot such as Tony Parker, Travis Outlaw, Devin Harris and Jason Kidd did. He’s got good size and athleticism which allows him to get to the hoop and finish. And unlike Bayless he’s got well developed court vision.
