First, that Lewis and Clark with the B-Ball was epic.
Secondly, the new one..eh..not so much. It looks like a OSU Basketball coming in from the Milky Way( perhaps bringing some talent to OSU's roster one can hope...or it could be their magical gameball...) done in early 90s special effects style.
So what say you BEdgers? Shall they answer our cries of bringing back a classic logo?
Or is this new logo an awesome new addition, not unlike fans who use the word 'Zers to refer to our Rip City crew?

it was time for a new one, but not sure this is it. maybe it will grow on me. But just like I don’t want the old vertical pinwheel back, I don’t want L&C back either.
Now, what’s with the site name change?

First time I stumbled upon this site, I was intrigued by the L/C logo… Definitely not what I was expecting for a site called Blazers Edge… The thing that bothered me the most was the ball that was floating on the fingernail.
But with that said, almost all of the SB logos are sort of out there in their own right. So whatever our site logo may be – pioneer cartoons or space arcade games, it will somehow “work”.
Let’s focus more on the posts, replies and content and let the aesthetic appeal of the top-left corner rest.
Can we make it a picture of...
Turkeyglue leaning over the edge of the Rose Garden with a guy wearing a Raptors jersey holding him back?
Bring back the Uncle Cliffy!

This was only about 30-40 min. worth of work. I’d be totally willing to whip up any other ideas. The skyline idea that VTDuck has below sound pretty cool as well.

I like the undistorted type, but not so hot on the multicoloring... Keep it red.

Portland skyline, Mt. Hood, a few Doug fir on the border, and a basketball above for a sun.

but I’m not a fan of the new one, and I really liked the old one.
Maybe they could set it to randomly pick one of three or four logos whenever the page is refreshed.

That's a great idea.
I immediately got the Sputnik reference from the new pic – it might signifiy a new era for the Blazers, as Sputnik did for the world entering the space age. I still like the old L & C logo. . . .it had the NW feel. you might link this new logo with the Rockets.
I liked the old one... It was unique
and fun to photoshop.

I thought the Lewis and Clark logo was cute and kind of clever.
The new one looks like it should have “pew pew pew” sound fx.

Lewis and Clark rule! i’m sure somone spent a lot of time coming up with the new one, but the older one was way more original.
Not a big deal to me
But I liked the old one better,it would make a killer insider joke on a T-shirt.

It's cheesy, but I thought L&C was a little obscure
I mentioned somewhere else that I like the new bookmark icon though!
The old one was uninteresting and now that I've seen this one... lame
I really like the satalite but the buildings look stupid and make the logo too busy. Leave the satalite and put some happy little trees.

or was it a surprise attack? I kind of think we should have 5 or 6 choices including the old and current and have a site vote. And yeah, as dpnim just posted while I was typing this, I’m all for a Photoshop Competition!

I'm gonna be blunt: the new logo is horrible, just plain awful.
BE should do what the Blazers did to get their logo and open it up to a competition. I’m positive this would result in a much better design.

Not a fan of the WNBA looking ball, and what is it supposed to be…a satellite? I wouldn’t go with the RG either, not too many people outside portland would get it (kind of like the current picture of the small downtown buildings.
At least L/C had some reference to the “Trailblazers.”
Oh and the bookmark icon should definitely be the pinwheel!!!!

Not sure I’m thrilled with the new one, either, but I like it better than the old one. Lewis and Clark just don’t seem Bedgy enough!

you probably didn't grow up in Oregon
Because if you did, You woluld remember learning all about lewis and clark in grade school and playing Oregon Trail in computer class. This is why I loved the old lewis and clark logo and it made me proud to be from the northwest. The new one is pretty cool too but the old one was original and had meaning. This is just a ball orbiting portland?

Mm Hmm.
When I first noticed it I said to myself, “oh, cool….. huh??”
It looks slick, but seems to bear no semblance to the team name aside from showing a caricature of the skyline. I thought the L&C could use a little spicing but I think I prefer it to the satellite. Unless someone can convince me that space is the NEXT trail to blaze. Then I may throw you a bone.
