2nd year pt guard 2009 Milwaukee Bucks vs. Lakers: 16 pts, 16 assists, 10 rebs, 4 steals vs. Rockets: 26 pts, 7 assists, 4 rebs, 4 steals vs. Pistons: 44 pts, 12 assists, 5 rebs vs. Nuggets: 27 pts, 8 assists, 4 rebs, 3 steals vs. Suns: 23 pts, 6 assists, 4 rebs vs. Mavericks: 21 pts, 7 assists, 3 rebs vs. Bulls: 23 pts, 11 assists, 5 rebs vs. Knicks: 22 pts, 9 assists, 6 rebs, 2 steals Thats averaging only 35 mpg which is quite astonishing for a second year point guard who only played 17 games in his first season, with the other 65 being played in the D- League. Furthermore, I have heard stated that "Ramon Sessions doesn't shoot the three ball very well" He actually doesn't shoot the three ball very often at all; In the eight games noted above he only attempted 5 three pointers, hitting 2 of them ( which is actually a good percentage). What he is, is a great penetrator who can break down and collapse defenses with his speed, quickness and ball control. On the defensive end he's quick enough to stay with and in front of any guard in the league without committing a high volume of fouls. Last season he never fouled out of a single game. That says alot when you consider the fact that he's guarding guys like Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Chauncey Billups, Deron Williams, Devin Harris, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash etc etc, basically young explosive pgs who make you foul with their speed, as well as whiley veteran pgs who lure you into foul trouble with savvy, deceptive moves. On the offensive end he possesses an uncanny ability to get to the rim from anywhere on the court and knows how to finish with a vast array of deceptive moves. With Brandon Roy, Rudy Fernandez, Nicolas Batum and Martell Webster we have quite enough capable and high percentage 3 pt shooters, we just need Sessions to penetrate and find our shooters in their spots and run pick and rolls with LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla (which is another aspect of his game that is very solid). His court vision, playmaking ability, defense and unselfishness are that of a seasoned veteran. All these factors combined with the fact that he seems to perform extraordinarily well on the grandest of stages; ie, MSG, Staples center, Palace of Auburn Hills etc (as noted above) make him, In my humble opinion "THEE" ONLY OPTION for us at point guard!!!
The triple double against the Fakers is just icing on the cake for me, I want to see him do them like that in a Blazer uniform!!
