Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Article about Turkeyglue's decision process. A quotation about him (not about "he") from that article:

"So, Turkoglu may forever be known as 'Hedon't' in Portland, as one national columnist penned, but how do you blame a guy for doing what he feels is in the best interests of he and his family"?

Hedo used portland...

He had no intention of signing with Portland. He used us to get the contract he wanted in Toronto. That said I hold nothing againts him, it was a smart move. Imagine what he would have been paid if it got out that his wife only wanted to go to Toronto?

He didn't use us

He simply has no stones. The spouse made the call, made easier by the extra $3-7M over 5 years. We all know that Toronto has no short-term championship prospects. We also know that KP working so hard the past 3 years to end up with Turkoglu is less than earth shattering. Go team.

Sounds like a skater to me.

He doesn’t want to work hard and compete for a title anymore so he goes to Toronto where he can enjoy himself more and take off on vacation in April. We absolutley dodged a bullet with this guy. The big knock on him is that he “disappears” for stretches. That’s just pure laziness for a 6’10" small forward with his considerable skill. No other reason for it.

(Unless, of course, he chose Toronto because he is looking forward to mentoring a new lottery pick every year!)

"The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over."

So much potential, so little fire.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
